I have Morrowind for the XBOX, though I wasn't a massive fan. Is it worth buying the GOTY for the expansions that are included? Do they add anything that improves the game greatly?

I wish I could buy the GOTY edition, it`s not as expensive as I thought it would be, but I can`t get hold of it here, in Romania.

Amazon needs credit cards AFAIK. Romania is more of a third world country than anything else. ;)

Game of the Year Edition, special package including the expansions and a poster, I think. The poster might be limited though, so it`s not 100% that one will get it if orders/buys.

It's the best "open" CRPG I've ever played. Huge world, incredible freedom, great main storyline, tons of back-story, and a huge modding community (if you have the PC version). The only serious problems are that it is very easy to become too powerful too fast for game ballance, and that as a single character CRPG you'll miss the interaction with party members given in games like BG2. The modding community has produced some good, memorable NPC henchmen to accompany you (Children of the Night 2 does the best job of this), but AI and interface problems can make them more a pain than a help in combat and when exploring.

CON2 also adds a city loosely based on Athkathla to the game, complete with the Copper Corronet, Madame Nin, and a mad ranger searching for his hamster.

Indeed, if he had had a party, it would have been really marvellous. :(

I enjoyed it nonetheless and, after I upgrade, I`m going to play it through. I can hardly wait, I already got myself over 200 mods, heh. Many of them are texture and model upgrades, it`s going to look like a 2004 game when I play it.

Elder Scrolls IV will probably support parties, it`s an issue which has been adressed to Bethesda many a time, therefore I`m more than certain that it will resolved.

No, but lots of underground suppositions and rumours float around and I`m more than certain they`re going to announce it soon. Some have stated that it`s to appear when X-Box2 is revealed, sometime at the end of 2005.

Also, I`m sure that it`s going to kick major ass.

Damn I hate my Dialup access, I almost forget what I want to say by the time this page loads.

ok now on with the show

a few points

1) if you can be strong enough to handle less than standard graphics in a game and have a good DOS Emulator or you can throw together a 486DX4/100 or similar. The Play Daggerfall, you have a continent to roam, thousands of dungeons to explore, you can be a criminal in one country and a hero in another, you can own houses, Boats, horses, there are Fortified towns who close thier gates after dark, you have the Vampire and Werewolf elements, I can go on

but to know that this game was released on a 486-DX2-66Mhz system
you realise how small Morrowind is, and why some people still mention Daggerfall.

elsewhere it was said that Daggerfall was buggy and unplayable in the original release, untrue, though some of the bugs did mess it up if you wanted to play only the main story, but the main story was short by comparison to a Character who rose to be master in almost every guild he could find.

get Daggerfall, bribe a friend to buy it for you if you cannot locate it.
it is worth the play.

note this game came out as a full CD game when Hard Drives in most gamers systems were a mere 500MB.

it is a shame though that Daggerfall will never see a GOTY Edition, as it could mean a smoother gaming experience (but then my Void Ranger would be useless since I made her to exploit the dungeon wall bug)

Dagerfal was great eheh but buggy as hell lol
morrowind just slightly beats it because of the fact modding morrowind is a charm :D and modding dagerfall was um a pain
im still working on my script for morrowind to include wabberjack lol

Hey is the new journal system exclusive to the GOTY edition or is it added with bloodmoon (or is it tribunal) ?
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat and the lines on the map
Moved from side to side.
