No, because at the beginning the following members were or had been in the prison:
1. main char
2. Imoen
3. Khalid (died in the prison)
4. Jaheira
5. Minsc (and Boo)
6. Dynaheir (died in the prison)
Because of this fact I think that noone had died in the final battle of BG1! B)

Some time passed between the end of BG1 and beginning of BG2, so people in the party might have been replaced, or PC might have well traveled with more than 5 companions. 
If you take the beginning of SoA too seriously, than your PC has to be a dwarf, since iirc there is one in the opening movie showing the party, and none of the five hypothetical NPCs who were accompanying you is a dwarf...unless I am mixing up opening movies or somthing...have not play Bg2 in a while now.

But then u aren't able to know which npc has died between BG1 and BG2!

I don't remember that in the opening sequence was the whole party showed. I know that Imoen, Gorion and Sarevok were in there but noone else (But I can be wrong).
