I just started playing BGII and got out of Irenicus' dungeon when I noticed I wasn't getting any new journal entries. The last one I recieved was about helping the 3 dryads. Here's what happened:
I talked to the dryads and accepted their quest, I went into Irenicus' lost love's room, golems attacked me, I killed them, then for some reason the dryads attacked me, I fled though the portal....and stopped getting journal entries....
Could I fix it somehow or do I have to start a new game?

the dryads should not go hostile. Try posting a bug report in UB and Oversight forums. You might have better luck that way.
You didn't install a journal tweak, did you? The one in Tweak paks is buggy; I don't know if it's included in UB or not.
Regardless, those dryads should not have gone hostile (unless you attacked them via an area spell).
edit: post at Imoen romance, too. One of these days Mirrabbo will stop "fixing" things.

Ummm....I feel vaguely ridicilous, it seems I simply hadn't gotten any new journal entries. I played a bit more and got to Chapter Two, and the entries worked fine. I suppose I was used to the frequence of Journal entries from BG1, where you got entries for everything and here I met Yoshimo, escaped the dungeon, watched Imoen get captured and none of these events where apparantly worth mentioning in the journal.
