Dante NPC Mod planning

Anyways, here is his statistics:
Full Name: Sir Dante Alsin
Game Name: Dante
Race: Human. Sex: Male. Age: 19
Class: Paladin -- Undead Hunter Kit. Alignment: Lawful Good--Duh (though behaves more NG).
Diety: Lathander, but pays minor tribute to Tyr since his order predominately worships Tyr.
Stats:
Strength: 16 -have to carry around armors and shields.
Dexerity: 14 -farm village days had him dodging bullies.
Consitituion: 15 - hardiness is a must for former farmer's sons.
Intelligence: 11 -he learned to read, write, basic figure, but he can't tell you what's the square root of 245331.
Wisdom: 14 - wiser then average people, but age will teach him better.
Charisma: 18 - one would think his youth would be a hindrance, but strangely, it's not.
(FINAL)
Romancable by: Males of any good or neutral alignment with a 10/13/13 combo in Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma, and yes, there's a pre-romance banter to tell him to back off if you're not interested. There are two branches for it.
Romance speicality: Can fall, and it would affect his personality. Bodhi Abduction will seriously impact his confidence.
FLIRT: Yes - playful and sweet mostly, with the bit of spice.
Personality sketch: He is a very sweet young man who has the eagerness of youth but on the otherhand a bit of an old soul in that knowing hardly anything is black or white, so he rarely rushes headlong into battle, preferring to observe before striking out at evil--though at times youthful emotions make him act more rashly. However, he has an intense "pity"(more like disgust and rage) towards the undead and focuses his training in the destruction of their kind--freeing their soul from trapment as he says. He is actually shy in more intimate settings with new people but once adjusted, he is a bit playful, but not really a joker.
Quests: 2 finished, one in planning mode
Speical items: a sword that can be upgraded (*HINT* doing Umar Hills Quest might be a good ideal), and an amulet that will stick to him once gained.
Banters: 2-6 per characters (very talkative he is).
Conflicts: Yes, the usual romance conflicts, espeically with Viconia since Lathander and Shar aren't exactly bosom buddies. Other conflicts: a bit with Anomen, and big ones with Edwin and Korgan, but if possible, the one only that will end in violence is with CN Anomen.
Brief background: unlike most Knights, he was raised in a small farming hamlet, which left a mark on his speech pattern, and given him a more of a humble outlook. On an amusing note, when he was a child, his twin sis often cowed him into doing things he rather not, and dragged him around like a ragdoll so to speak, otherwise, for the most part his childhood was average for the most part--save for being taken into training as page, and then squire to a Knight, and amazingly made knight at 17, due to making an exceptional effort to keep everyone in his company alive, and clearing out undead infestations.
"Do you know how much that turns me on, Ki?"
"Maxi! I'm trying to be serious here!" -- Maxi and Kilik
When angry, count to four; when very angry, swear. -- Mark Twain
To disagree with three-fourths of the British public is one of the first requisites of sanity.

And alien tears will fill for him Pity's long-broken urn, For his mourners will be outcast men, And outcasts always mourn.

I like him, as much as I do not need another tinhead in the game, he is a welcome addition.

That's part of his little dilemmia, so part of his banters/talks is about the 'appropriateness' of it, without actually referring to the subject itself--basically being a bit dodgy.I don't know how fantasy games should handle this "issue", but homosexuality MAY be a serious problem in paladinhood and such, I think its not a bright idea. It'd be acceptable of course.
And not all NPCs will be so accepting of it, and Edwin in pectuliar will harrass him over it once it "comes out" so to speak.
But not all of his banters involve around that, others talk about undead, exchanging stories, or just being inquisitive.
Dante is quite a name for a peasant or did he change his name when he got knighted. With Int 10 he would not be an inspired upcoming writer, would he.
I like him, as much as I do not need another tinhead in the game, he is a welcome addition.
Thanks, Jester. And his father use to be a bit of a traveler and "Dante" was the name of an old companion. He was a character I played in old FR-ish e-mail rp games, and thought he would be a nice addition to BG2.
I like his personality, but why is he gay, any particular reason behind that?
Well, Grey, biological, magical, who knows? Such questions is better left to learned sages ^_~
You can say a character takes a life of their own, and that's what Dante did in that e-rpg, decided that he preferrs the company of men.

I have to be with Kish, after all D&D gods aren't YVH or Jenovah or Allah, yes maybe some gods aren't too comfy with it, but not all of them I think, we are talking about an world at least three or more Egyptian-size Pantheons afterall. How so?homosexuality MAY be a serious problem in paladinhood and such,
It mostly depends on what god the Paladin is serving under, and the prejudice of the knights in the same order. (I've seen more people quitting church due to their fellow churchmember then by losing faith).
I had taken the thought into consideration with the pectuliar diety (Lathander), and considering the fact such things aren't mentioned in FR novels, I had to go by gut instinct basically.
And how things will go for Dante after he comes out remains to be seen.

How do you know? I have never had the privilege to have divine inspiration on this. If you go by what the priests of these gods tell you they might not. But then again many priests are also child molesters and I don't know of any god who is very fond of that.
Sorry I just had my usual 5 sec rant about homophobia and religion

Organized Religion of Earth sucks eggs, and their currently translated books aren't god's words people, it's people's writing.

Just two little questions:
- Is Dante`s sword a better one than the Carsomyr?
- Where will we find the character? I`m guessing the Order of the Radiant Heart or somewhere else?

Oh I know what you mean, I would program this, but I am a lazzy-arse when it comes to tech stuff and it makes my head spin, so Kish has that honor.`Tis quite an idea, original and refreshing, congratulations! I`m having a NPC on my mind which is.. Let`s say different, but I don`t think I`ll ever sit down to work on that.
His Beginning Sword is more on par with Mace of Disruption, his later upgraded sword is not exactly a Carsomyr killer, but it is still useful in the end game.- Is Dante`s sword a better one than the Carsomyr?
His beginning profs is for long swords and axes.
- Where will we find the character? I`m guessing the Order of the Radiant Heart or somewhere else?
Nope, he'll be in Waukeen's Promenade in the more northernly section--he'll approach you. He's from a different order then the Radiant Heart.

@How many is many?
I can get you the numbers if you tell me a specific country and church
@What is this based on?
General media and the internet
@And what relevance does it have?
Is thaught religion necessarily true or can believers of all faiths have a diverging opinion from their clergy

And for relevance, why do you mention child - molesting priests? Homosexuality is not the same as paedophilia.
EDIT: Any yes, I did read the above.

The thread has to do with how gods in the Forgotten Realms, not the planet Earth, might view homosexuality. Let's leave it at that and not make this turn into a human theological debate. Please.
