The official Imoen is pleasant, cute, smart, funny and so on; generally an attractive person but lacking in any sharply drawn personal traits that define other NPCs. In short, a perfect Roschach ink blot without any right or wrong answers. Everyone can project whatever they want onto her and it will more or less fit.

I do not know if anyone said that yet, but my opinion was always that she is asexual. I think she is way too young to care. I know, that the majority of you live in an odd society when people start thinking about sex very young, but well, I was brought up differently and Imoen for me is a proper 17 yo, who might blush and cast a glance at a male once in a while, but would not think of bedding one.

Your pov makes sense, Domi. I like it.
I agree, she could be just like so at the beginning of SoA.

(But it's not fun to assume that she would stay like so forever... then... )

I've been away for quite a while... trying to play the "other" Imoen mod (as opposite to trying to have a part in writing this one)
I'm not sure I will play "that" one a second time, but at present I'm enjoying it.
Romancing Imoen and pretending to be Kivan.
(Do you remember Kivan from BG1?)
This sums up my personal points of view about the kind of man (/partner, but Kivan is obviously male so I guess I've made my choice about Imoen's sexuality clear) Imoen would be attraced to...

Makes me wonder how old people think Imoen is. Not sure myself. She's at most a year or two younger than the PC if not the same age, who is 20 at the beginning of BG1. Making her about 19-20 at the start of BG1 and 20-22 at the start of BG2. Her voiced lines are awfully young sounding in BG1 however (she's certainly more mature in BG2, very serious even, though she lightens up a little in ToB).

Kivan and Imoen? I guess I am so deep into Kivan being that introvertial, poetic, romantic Elf with starry black eyes and quiet musical voice who is absolutely bound to romance PC...that I have troubles imagining NPC-NPC romance for him. Branwen or Sime I think will be the only two I'd entrust Kivan to. :D

Again, funny how these NPCs, illustrations with a blue circle under their feet, make people to project their desires...

As for the age of the PC... :D Twenty is a game's convension. 20 yo Elf protagonist would make BG into yet another best selling Harry Potter novel. Child hero end all. Ever since I heard that notorious "Heya, that's me, Imoen" in BG1... she sounded ("I am almost as old as you!") as a kid and in the begining of BG2 she sounds as a very scared kid. Anyway, it's not really that important.

I'd like to see her bisexual, since it would make no difference to people who prefer hetero or homo (strictly form the point of view that they wont notice it, they'd romance the way they prefer and can ignore the other aspect).

Unless your OOC preferances are so strong that you cannot play this mod if she is bi you should not have any objections to that.

Unless of course this mod isn't about romancing, then I'm screwed. :)

I think there would be a difference between bisexual and heterosexual romance in the way they are written. I think it is more interesting when the romance targets male or female PC, not unisex PC.

The protagonist was being schooled at the start of the series, and Harry Potter goes on to beat great evil at a young age.

This mod is not about romancing, and some of us are still hoping it will have no romance component at all.

Yes! That Imoen would like imho!

And about your troubles and doubts about npc-npc romance, well... as long as Immy stays the npc we know and Kivan becomes a pc I see no trouble at all

Naughty trick, I have to admit... but I like to add unusual branches to every original storyline... Bear with this DM bard...

This is actually something an employee of mine had to say, I note that she happens to be bi-sexual (sorry to you Jenn if I got your quote wrong).

"Being bisexual means one of two thing to a person, from my experience. It means you either want to sleep around with both guys and gals, although I don't know many guys like that. Or you want to be able to be free in your search of the perfect mate, be it of your own sex or opposite sex. It means you are open to any possibility in love, loss and life."

"I think that's what Imoen should be like, free to any possibility of love where ever she finds it"

Hear hear (well I had to write something, considering this is my post B) )

"Oh.... Look .... It's not"!
Now look at this bard looking for trouble....! :)

... Are you wielding any authorithy to *state that*, in this forum, by any chance I'm very sorry to be not aware of?

Do *you* know in advance that Quitch will leave all "romanceable" options out.... regardless about whatever "the audience" could be asking about?

(now I know that the one looking for trouble is very liklely ME)

But everybody! Stand now!
Are not we loving her?

Are we interested in a mod that's not about romancing her???

Aha!

You can bet I'm browsing that thread now...
and I should have done it before.

My fault.

But as we're at it, I was wondering (heh, asking) if you're into the making of the mod somehow...

I wish wish wish there is a romance, though ;_;

The "You don't have to play it if you don't want to" thing is always a lameish argument, but I'll use it anyway :(

Some PC's of mine would try, some wouldn't... Rrrr
