Sadly, still getting

ERROR: Failure("resource [r#asmstff.itm] not found for 'COPY'")  --  from (1ppv4: Colourable Quarterstaves) and (1ppv4: Core updates and item patches)

even after the new download

Not sure if it's better to get the software from here, or the git hub page?

even after the new download

I haven't released a new version yet; I've only added the fixes to the mod's master branch on GitHub. The download page on the forums is still pointing to the previous version.

Finished the 1pp install (except for avatar morph script, which happens latter)  DIddn't see any other issues (and I have almost every item mod in the manual installed), so looks like you're good

Thanks for all the time and effort you put in to these things :)

I'm also doing a big BWP (almost full) installation and run into several problems but solved most of them.
Approximately 5 tries to solve and configure everything, but i'm still toying with the tweak mods to get everything perfect.
I'm gonna write a postmortem of the BWP installation in the following days with some suggestions.
As a freebi for something nice:

How to modify the annoying "quest updated" and "quest finished" sound.
The "quest update sound" functionality of the improved gui is nice, but the choice of sound is terrible and completely immersion breaking.
In order to solve it you can do the following.

1) Go to this youtube video
2) Run the link through https://4kdownload.t...-wav-downloader and download it as a .wav file
3) Before installing the BG2 improved GUI mod you need to replace the files
bg2improvedgui\event_text\files\FOSLTART.wav
bg2improvedgui\event_text\files\TADA.wav

with the oblivion .wav (or any wav you want).

4) Run the BWP installation normally with this modification and enjoy

One problem that I run into (and I'm still trying to solve) is that I think not all the new animation helmets (and shields) are showing

If my memory is not wrong (and could be wrong) considering that I played with a BWP (almost) full installation almost a decade ago, all helmets (and shields) should be showing, the ones in bg1 and bg2. I remember the basic helmets with no small horns and the ones with horns. Also I remember seeing both versions of bucklers and medium shields in the same game.
But now in the part of BG1 only the first ones are showing.

I'm pretty sure that item revisions don't include all the new animations of 1ppv4

A potential solution with the installation order to include everything is discussed here.
https://www.gibberli...h-ippv4/page/2/
But I need to test it.

@ orion "I'm gonna write a postmortem of the BWP installation in the following days with some suggestions." PLEASE do this  ... I need it .... and is need it (at least for those like me with no much knowledge in IE moding)

There is one problem that I'm not being able to solve (2 actually).

1) The Music for Keldorn Romance inside Vlad compilation is failing to install, some problem in a Keldorn .bcs file. Is weird because, does not matter what I fixed or changed it always fails to install. More weird that it says that "Music for Keldorn romance MUST BE INSTALLED for Tortured Souls". I don't know if is a "must be" or a "you must install it or it will break".

2) For some reason Khalid and Jaheira lose their voice sets and the subtitles are all garbage lines. In the case of Jaheira lines related to a character called Leina. The voice sets and subtitles of other npcs are completely okey. Most interesting the BWP pdf says the following:

Component 37 [Stats and Portraits of Viconia and Jaheira. BG1 Viconia and Jaheira can get their BG2 portraits and stats (by Vlad)]? [N]ot Install

This component will ruin Jaheria NPC in BG1/BGT. She will not have voiceover at all and her generic standard lines/commands are mismatched. Also this component will giver her ++ proficiency in crossbow which she can't use anyway plus ankheg armor which may seem overpowered for some

This is exactly the problem I'm having, and indeed Jaheira have an ankheg armor, except that the component 37 is nowhere being installed in the individual.bat. So there must be an error in the BWP pdf and another Vlad Compilation component is causing the error.

My guess is that, the problem is being caused by other component inside Vlad Compilation, OR, the problem is being caused because of the failed installation of the Keldorn Romance Music that is ruining something of the tortured souls installation.

I'm gonna try completely ignoring tortured souls, Leina NPC, Jaheira Priest of Silvanus component (I think this is the one causing troubles), and see what a happens.

Aside from that everything seems to be working, npcs are firing their banters correctly, I was able to reach Nashkel, the banters of Jaheira are okey, etc.

Yeah I've got something similar on a couple of installs.

I've just installed BGT, vlad's compilation and NEJ and Khalid has a mix of Kagain and Jaheira's sound sets and when he dieds it displays Jaheira biography text. Last time i checked, after noticing something weird with Khalid's soundsets, he had Leina's. No idea what is causing that. I think i ended up deleting Khalid's .cre files from VCv21\NeJE\bdash\BGTComp\copy

I have also had issues with ~SETUP-VCV21.TP2~ #0 #13 // Music for Keldorn, Tortured Souls and Leina (MUST be installed for any of these mods): v2.1 BWP adaptation

but it installed ok on my most recent install. I was using PI for most of it but it doesnt copy a few files correctly from Vlad's comp so i install those components manually. I  think maybe it was because oggdec.exe didnt get copied from extracted mods folder to \BGII - SOA folder

And there are some .wav files in VCv21\override that are needed and i know PI doesn't copy the \overide folder across

Well, for starters folks you're putting in some pretty old mods, and the PDF already warned  you about them.  Baldurdash fixes have already  been completely done by the bg2fixpack (which is way more recent) and VC21 has mega issues on it's own.  You can't use the original tp2's of either (again, as per the PDF).

As for NEJ, Leonardo wanted to incorporate it into the BWP but was having all sorts of weird problems with it.  The mod authors advised against it in the first place.  You can read about it at BWL site.  They ca;me up with something they thought would work, but you'll need the exact versions of the mods in question (and likely weidu as well).

At any rate, am currently in full troubleshooting mode myself.  Decided to uninstall and reinstall the game (to have a clean copy).  Patched (of course) and installed tobex and afterlife, then bg2fixpack, then BGT.  Have noticed the following issues:

a)   graphics glitches.  The control panel keeps blacking out on the main screen (except for npc portraits), and glitches on the inventory screen as well.  Not sure what's causing that one, unless it's an issue with the opengl drivers.

b)   sound glitches.  Nothing too serious, but music tends to be a bit garbled at times.  I have EAX enabled, but it doesn't seem related (and turning it off in both wine and the game doesn't change things). Only affecting the music anyways.

c)   map glitches.  On several screens it's not possible to make notes on the map.  Right click but nothing happens.  Not sure if that one happens consistently in the same areas or not.  Will do further testing but am treating it as a minor issue for now.

Anyways, these problems were with the original test run.  Have since got rid of that game and done a reinstall, this time adding txtscreen music and bggo.  Exactly the same issues but at least they're not worse.

d)   XP glitches (?)   Don't have any other mods installed, but was running a multi-class fighter / thief.  Got to 9th level fighter and 11th level thief before finishing the Candlekeep quest.   I know there are mods to remove the XP cap, but have listed the entire install above (except I did use generalized biffing ... forgot to mention that).  Again, a minor issue that affected both installs.  It does make me wonder about the safety of installing the "Change Experience Point Cap" component of cdtweaks tho.

Had a CTD when trying to enter the room where the Iron Throne high ups were, and think I'm going to wipe this one and start a new install.  That issue could be that I just need to reboot, so not too worried.

The plan for the new install is the same as before, this time adding TDD to the lineup.  A bit concerned about the error message "WARNING: cannot find block matching [bgt/compat/tdd/replace/rar0300.baf]", but will see what happens.

I think this was fixed by BWS Fixpack and BWP Fixpack: IsGabber triggers prevented some scripts from running. BGT is looking for the version of the block already without IsGabber, but if you install TDD without the fixes before BGT, it'll add these triggers causing the installation error.

Thanks for the info!

I decided to reboot and finish things out just to make sure there weren't any issues, and there weren't.  Well, after surrendering to the Flaming Fist (and being told would hang for the crimes), no one ever came to release from prison.  Just sat there.  Finally got bored and  Ctrl + J to get out, and things went as they should.  It's been over a decade since I've messed with it, so maybe I just didn't wait long enough?  Gave it several minutes tho, and nothing.

I'll look into the fixes from fixpack, but suggest you don't count on them.  After all, how many people are still going to be using the BWP now?  Well, aside from the previous posters who should be using it for vic21 and bdash (not to mention NEJ).  Just hope they (at least) used the right tp2's.

Any suggestions on the other issues?  The audio isn't game breaking, but the video distortions are pretty annoying.

Forgot to mention versions.  BGT v1.23.1    WeiDu v249   Generalized Biffing the latest release from github.

I'd wager that, as you have already surmised, it is indeed an issue with your OpenGL drivers.  You could try to disable 3D rendering as a potential workaround.  I use Void Linux currently, but I've witnessed similar rendering artifacts with the BG2 engine for some time (as in years) across various distributions.

Interesting!

I may well try to use software rendering on the next test run, so thank you!

Wish there was a better solution tho :ermm:

It'll be tomorrow (at best) before I start the new test run.  I remembered some fixes for TDD from back in the day, but am looking forward to checking out the fixes from the BWS (and BWP) fixpack as well.  That, however, will take time.

Thanks again for the input!!

Is there anything you'd like me to change in the install?  I'm currently in a great position to act as an alpha tester ya know ^_^

You could try the latest master of BGT to test if soaintro.mve gets properly copied and plays on Wine in Near Infinity.

Also Infinity Animations with the latest Generalized Biffing and WeiDU v249 could use some testing on Wine, but you'll have to use the Windows installers because the native Linux version of WeiDU currently can't handle file operations with non-ASCII characters. More info here.

I remember playing an older version of BWP (it was like 10 years ago), si it probably was between BWP v10 or v15 and I finished BG1 with all the mods (Norther tales, Dark side, Grey clan, Dark horizons, etc) and finished the NEJ part of the game in the past and returned to Irenicus dungeon.

I don't know if the new version broke anything, but it worked in the past and the first part was absolutely playable and you could finish it.

I haven't been able to get to a new install (too busy with prepping TDD and such).  I had already included the soa movie thing tho, and went ahead and tested it on NearInfinity.  Works like a charm :)

I'm currently busy translating the BWP patch files for TDD from DOS to Linux, and have run into an interesting question.

The PDF was saying that the Ninde NPC mod is incompatible with TDD, as TDD rewrites the dialog for Ellesime in such a way that it breaks Ninde.  Interestingly, there is a patch for this on the github site.  Am wondering if this issue hadn't long been fixed.  Does anyone run with both the Ninde mod and TDD?  Would love to hear about it.

Also wanted to clear things up a bit.  From my posts, you may get the (wrong) idea that I'm hating on Leonardo.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I have nothing but the utmost respect for the man.  I suspect he is a Bhallspawn himself in real life ... would almost have to be to create the BWP and keep it running as long as he did.

My gripes deal with one of those (real life) sad - but true issues ... documentation is always at the bottom of the priority list when it comes to development.  Do you have any idea of the number of the mods I've worked with for this project that don't even have a Readme file?  And, of the ones that do, it turns out to be just a list of dates for different releases (no info on what was changed)?

The folks that were entrusted to keep the PDF updated weren't taking the job too damned seriously, and it shows.  From blocks of instruction for installing mod [a] pasted in  the middle of mod [r]  (leaving partial instructions for [a] tagged onto [r]'s end), to instructions meant for mod [r] that were misplaced into mod [a], to the fact they were just copy/pasting without checking if previous component entries were still correct (not to mention incompatibility listings that had already been fixed) ...  I could go on.  I  can't tell you how many times the PDF is offering suggestions for installing component options that don't even exist.  I'd understand it if the mods had been updated since the PDF was written, but they are very often the same version.

Those are just a few samples of the issues I've been running into.  These have been addressed in the txt file, but it'll be awhile before I can write any instructions on how to install.  Right now, I'm too busy troubleshooting.

Anyways, if anyone has installed both TDD and Ninde (via the BWP) I'd love to hear about your experiences.  Same with the Rylorn NPC mod, for that matter (does anyone even still use that mod?).  Rylorn always annoyed the hell outta me as a player ... every NPC sentence ends with an exclamation mark :ermm: .  An interesting mod but (IMHO) poorly written.

I don't have Rylorn in the current instalI nor Ninde.

Wonder why Rylorn is incompatible with basically every mod that adds a blackguard or antipaladin kit.

Shouldn't just override his kit? Or be added in an inoffensive way?

I wonder what "incompatible" actually means or why/how it breaks if you add any kit in that category.

PS: Could you add a link to the Ninde patch? I'm interested. Looks like an interesting character for an evil playthrough.
