Tried to download from GitHub and my computer said that there was a virus detected.  Might want to look at it. Tried the download from SHS and it was clean.

The green download button points to the latest ZIP archive on GitHub, i.e. it's basically the same package. What AV software reported that and which file specifically?

I don't use an AV program per se, i use whatever comes with MS 10. I read somewhere that when Norton was run side by side with MS 10, MS caught more viruses then Norton. With that in mind i stopped my subscription with Norton and i haven't had any problems, except for GitHub.

I don't know what the deal with GitHub is, but i have nothing but problems downloading anything from there.

Your question about which file specifically, ARP 10.1 to be specific. There are others, but i can't remember their names. I only use SHS download or the website itself to download anymore. I say anymore, because at one time i was able to download from GitHub without problem. Somewhere along the line, that changed. Don't know how or when that happened.

Also, sorry for the lengthy delay in responding.

I've just scanned arestorationp-v10.1.zip downloaded from GitHub with Windows Defender (part of Windows Security suite on Windows 11). It hasn't found any threats.

I meant which file inside the archive. Is setup-arestorationp.exe the source of these false positives? All WeiDU setup executables are downloaded by WeiDU Mod Packager or Infinity Auto Packager directly from the official WeiDU repository.

Which file inside the archive? I haven't got a clue. The small report i got wasn't specific about why it rejected the download. The report was straight forward, "it has detected a virus and is stopping the download". That was the sum total of it.

Again, at one point in time i was able to download from GitHub, but something changed with GitHub and i am having nothing but problems with it. I stopped using Norton years ago and i haven't had any problems with MS10. (Yes i know that MS has stopped supporting MS10)

We've been using the same WeiDU binaries for a few years now. Your AV and possibly browser could be somehow configured (perhaps by default after some updates) to use more aggressive heuristic analysis or something like that. Are you using Edge? Try a different browser.
