Insomniator, it's possible to extend ToBEx and add option: Do not drop items after death ? So the items will be still at correct slots after resurrecting party member?


It would need to be tailored to only apply to party members, of course, or there would be no loot from our enemies :)

 

But I agree it would be a kick-ass feature.

Well, I have not seen the enemy using the resurrection spell even once, on "their party members". Or any other spells for that matter. It's not equipped to do that. Pun intended.

But I agree it would be a kick-ass feature.

Do you think this is a really good idea ? :(
Option can reduce motivation to value the lives of Party - Raise Dead from the cleric, then a health potion in quickslot (in BG2 there are overpowered with 40 hit-points) and the deceased member is back on the battlefield with reduced costs of resurrection.

Death should mean something in this game(sarcasm), if someone died - collect the remains of the body/items, do a funeral and perform ceremony in church (imho)

There is a similar idea, if mage/cleric was drained to low levels, after full recovery restore removed spells to the old slots. I dont know about possibilty to implement this, but it looks quite useful

Insomniator, when getting level drained by vampires, mages* lose their "memorized" spell. When you cast restoration on the character, you have to add them back manually.


Can you make it so that restoring the level adds the spell back (even if you can't cast them until you sleep)?


*but also druids, ranger, paladin, etc.

Updated to 3.18:

  • Added: Extended roll/damage combat text
  • Added: Do not clear Drained Spells (experimental)
  • Added: New option to hide Enemy's spells remaining time
  • fixed typo in MOD name :)

last thing probably mess forum links, but i think this is not big problem

There are some things missing for Classical bg that would be very useful for modders. Namely:

 - EE opcode 321 (cancel effects by resource)

 - EE opcode 337 (cancel effect by opcode)

 - splprot.2da and EE opcodes 318/326 (conditional immunity/conditionally cast spell)

 - extended functionality for opcode 233 (including the ability to decrement proficiencies)

 - splstate.ids and opcode 328 are nice, but not even necessary if you have the extended opcode 233 functions

Only fixing know TobEx/Engine bugs, forget about new opcodes, "TobEx development times" is gone

Thanks for fixing some of the current ToBEx issues while you work on your GUI modification.

 

I am sorry that you think that we are past the time for further developing ToBEx though. You strike me as a very competent modder and I am sure you could breathe new life into ToBEx to make it even better.  :cheers:

Insomniator, first and foremost, thank you for the GREAT work you're doing with this mod.

 

Don't know if somebody already mentioned this, but I have an idea: to mark in some way, while on the inventory screen, the characters that are too far from the selected character to give them items? Sometimes it's frustrating when you try to give an item to one of your companions and it turns out he/she stands two steps too far.

This is possible, i think red thin border on portrait is good marker

Unfortunately it is impossible because drawing something on main game screen(GameWorld) is incredible challenge. There is no separate Controls or UI elements, i dont know exactly how engine handle numerous sprites on this area
