Funny how I have also been using dex909's map for BGT since it first came out.

It seems to me it is still the best available option because I don't think it would be legal to include commercial assets from the BG1:EE game.

How would it be any more illegal than to include commercial assets from the original games?

BGT requires the user to own both BG1 and BG2 in order to be installed.

It seems quite much of a difference to me.

BGT requires...

How so... no, that's not a question, cause here's the added -weidu, that that answer requires. Othervise, it is only your delusion.
Yes, the original BGT didn't really require the BG1 assets at all, cause they were packaged into the download archive, but the BGT-weidu's 21 MBs couldn't, and it so didn't carry the BG1 assets like the original BGT's 500+MBs did ! So there', THE BGT-WEIDU doesn't, while the Bardez BGT did. It was a gray zone, that no one poked about. Wanted that is. Which is part of the reason Ascension64's BGT-weidu was quite revolutionary thing.

This is also a thing today, you don't really have commercial assets in the BG games, cause you know, the EE games were retroactiverly re-engineared from the original games, while licensesed by the non original Atari, from a studio bankruptcy. Yes, the world we live in, is a little bit complex.

- A component that installs the larger dialogue/gamelog font from the TotSC CD (it uses the fixed polish-friendly version of the file)

Unfortunately I've found an issue with the font, one of rarely used capital letters was rendered incorrectly:

I've managed to correct the issue:

And here is corrected font file:

Attached File  TOSC-1250-PL-corrected.bam   22.19K   146 downloads

Sorry about that. I had to finish Tales of the Sword Coast ("Opowieści z Wybrzeża Mieczy") to finally notice the issue.

Yes. A lot was done throughout last year: commits | issues

Got tons of help and feedback from Andrea C., Salk and Roberciiik; together we've solved a lot of long-standing issues. Even the new map is ready and has been awaiting approval for half a year now.

To do: BG1 game text revision (70% done), documentation (readmes etc.)

Edit: You also got invited to Infinity Sounds beta but haven't even read the message.

I was just looking at my BG2 install wondering if I should start the BG2 portion of BGT.  I stopped in 2019 after running into the Sarevok fight, which had been heavily buffed by BGT, to the point it was unplayable.  I discovered most people did not realize this since they play with SCS and it overwrites the files which BGT uses to overpower Sarevok's party.

Has the Sarevok party situation been corrected?

Are there any other minefields like this in the BG2 portion? I don't want to get deep into BG2 and run into another situation where Ctrl-Y is the only solution due to BGT changes.  Thanks.

I see from the start of this thread that the Sarevok situation has been addressed.  I am just wondering if there are any other bombs like this waiting for me in the BG2 portion as I do not want to start the whole game all over again.

I actually copied my install of that game to my new computer and I get a huge list of Weidu errors when I go in to fiddle with the widescreen resolution.  Game seems to work although the intro music keeps playing even once the game has started after loading a saved game, so I am not sure if the game is stable.  No idea why these errors would appear now, the folder is just a copy of the BG2 install from my old computer.

Stuff like this:

Seems like you assume somebody spent countless hours tweaking stats, scripts and items to make things different from the original BG1. No, the goal was always to stay faithful to the original, but use BG2 engine (including class, spell and item changes introduced in BG2). If there is any strange behavior, it's typically because BGT often uses BG2 versions of existing game resources not to copy everything over from BG1 (and potentially breaking BG2 portion of the game). BGT creators had to go through a lot of files shared between both games manually looking for differences made by the game devs themselves. Of course, they may have missed something, like that Semaj script you reported some time ago.

So, no, there aren't any intentional minefields laid out for the players to make anything more challenging than what it was like in the original games.

OK. I am an ordinary player, so when I install a mod, and it makes a major encounter much harder, my natural assumption is this is on purpose.  Some popular mods like SCS very much do this on purpose.

Hard to say if the whole install was messed up without a full log. Have you tried updating WeiDU first?

To be clear, there were no problems with the original install.  I played BGT to the Sarevok encounter than stopped.  Copied the install folder to new computer.  I have not done anything to change anything since then except run the Widescreen mod again which was already in place from before, because the display was stretched (eventually found my graphics card was doing this on new computer and fixed it that way).  So I am quite puzzled that these errors show now.

At least I thought there were no problems, I don't recall seeing them before.  Looking at the log I see things like this, which I am assuming are left over from before, but I am not sure how WeiDU works in terms of logging when you reinstall something like widescreen:

Are these errors from the 2019 install, or from running Widescreen again?

If it tries to reinstall everything again automatically anytime I change anything, then I imagine some things could get screwed up from the fact it is in a different location than before.  The Debug files from the other mods reference the C drive while now the game is on D. So if it uses the Debug files as a guide for auto reinstall, it would not work, though I would expect that to break every mod, not just two.  Curious.  I wonder if this game is ruined, or if manually reinstalling the mods again would fix it.

I am attaching the Widescreen debug file if you want to take a look at it.  It is strange because it looks like things were installed successfully, followed by a list of errors for those same things.

The other Debug files all date from 2019.

Hih, hih, hih.     And should it not be clear, the problem was caused by extracting an old and outdated weidu.exe from widescreen mod into the old game folder, and trying to install with it, to a (BWS type)game that was installed long after the widescreen mod had originally been updated. And as the setup-modnames.exe were no longer there, the weidu.exe didn't update itself. To find out more, read the rule number 1 of the megainstalls.

It was Widescreen 3.07.  I guess the question is why did it work before, since I added nothing new to the folder, and deleted nothing either.  The only thing I can think of is I did not play the game using it, but that seems hard to believe.
