Strong English incoming.

Just started TOB in 1.18 (since i have started Trilogy on it) and encountered bug with companion interjections during dialogue, the same as here:

https://sorcerers.ne...oilyness.22474/

The problem is with Imoen, Jaheira and Edwin lines on Sarevok appearing, that didnt launch and break the dialogue.

I am using many tweak mods - SCS, Ascension, Tweak Anthology, Fixpack, TOBex and understand that problem is probably here, not with BGT, but i would really like to fix this if possible.

I am playing Trilogy for month and idea of dropping all companions to skip their bugged lines is unthinkable, its BG, not Diablo.

I have tried to uninstall suspicious mods but bug is still there, even on clean 1.18 or 1.19.

Hm, the problem has gone after I have used Import game feature in Tob menu. I guess Trilogy auto import BG2-TOB is broken, because:

1) Saves with autoimport also shows in Sod-menu, not Tob one which is strange. Solved after Import feature.

2) I didnt receive Seldaryn Amulet after beating Irenicus. Shadowkeeper solves this but still.

1.. if this refers to the Siege of the Dragonspear, which lacks the t, and non-capitalized D, ... has more to do with Windows and the save folder association, rather than the games themselves. And incase you are not familiar, the SotD can import non-EE games just like the BG2EE can... but you can't really do it in the reverse. As the SotD has a BG1EE engine backing it up, which is just the BG2EE engine in itself... of course all depending on engine versions and other hullaballoo.
2.. has multiple reasons it to not show up.. we first need a weidu.log's content to actually say things for sure... list of mods and no component list has a fairly big failure facture.
Strong English.. hah hahahhaha. I mean, you must have failed the lore -check.

I am a bit confused about EE part, I wrote about 1.18 version in the beginning, so yeah i am using classic BGT.

And i am almost 100% sure that this import problem still exists in 1.20, doubt that it has something to do with mods (I dont have anything cheesy with new content or locations). I tried my save on clean 1.18 and 1.19 versions - bug is still there.

Here is my Weidu log http://www.filehost.pt/52lm

Would be glad to hear about someone others walkthought and if they had this problem or not.

sorrry my english is poor

i intall BGT 1.19

i find the store in flamefist area can't sell things to BG2

Could this be a potential bug?

I've done some testing about this.

With BGT 1.18 installed:

In BG1, southwest part of baldur's gate city, there are two merchants from BG2, and one of them called "enge".

Player could sell items to them in BG1, and buy them in BG2.

With BGT version above 1.18(1.20 for example):

The two merchants are not from BGT, they are just generic "storekeeper" in BG1.

When testing, installed mods only include: fixpack(latest) & bgt. Here's weidu log of 1.18.

// Log of Currently Installed WeiDU Mods
// The top of the file is the 'oldest' mod
// ~TP2_File~ #language_number #component_number // [Subcomponent Name -> ] Component Name [ : Version]
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // BG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes: v13
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #1000 // BG2 Fixpack - Game Text Update -> GTU Light (by Wisp): v13
~SETUP-BGT.TP2~ #0 #0 // Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Core: 1.18 (28 Apr 13)

There's a specific mod that adds "merchants" to BGT that's used to cheat and allow you to bring your BG1 items into the BG2 portion... BUT it's not part of the standard BGT-weidu !
But you could also just cheat a bag of holding to BG1 portion of the game, and then leave it to a safe map before you leave the BG1 portion, and then just retreave it the same way you would get it in BG2... cheat or finding the specific bag of holding, as all of them use different .itm files and .sto files. But what you can't do is to take them into the transition as that will empty the bag.

Thanks for your clarification, which let me have a better understanding of the transfer mechanism between BG1 and BG2.

And "bag of holding" way really helps when someone decides to solo BGT.

Well, missing 90% of the games really an option you probably should have... but really not that important. And the amount of ...

Would you do a favor to the horrific smile on my face, and post a Weidu.log that this can be reproduced with ? The ancient BGT also had the song component, and I'll assume you have not installed that, with the different setup- file.

I believe that BGT 1.19 still contains an error in Durlag's Tower Basement Level 4.

In vanilla BG1 every pawn that reaches opposite end of chessboard gets promoted to queen.

Ascension64 never implemented this behavior in BGT.

Question:

1) Beregost crash-to-desktops: Unexpected crashes and save game corruptions can occur when travelling in and out of Beregost. To minimise its occurrence, keep multiple save games, do not rely on the auto-save, avoid saving the game inside Beregost, or alternatively, use the Beregost Crash Fixer utility on corrupted saved games.

Is the reason on why this happens known?

2)
Inside the readme it is written:

Spoiler

I can't find any Setup-BGTMusic.exe in my folder. Is this part of the readme a remnant of an old past?

Do you mean inside your BGT game folder after the BGT installation? It should be placed there. I installed BGT v 1.20 and the setup-bgtmusic.exe is there.

okay, forgive me. I thought I had BGT installed because I got a folder named BGTcomp inside my baldur's gate folder, but it is not from BGT.

Is there any particular reason these music were not made an optional component inside the installer, where you can decide which options to go for?

Yes.

First of all, it's a very old mod... from 2000's, not 2010's... meaning that, when it was converted to be a WeiDU mod, the Author changed, and since the previous mod didn't have such subcomponent or the ability to install that as a feature or the Graphical User Interface change, both things were added as a separate mods of their own. And there's also facts such as mods own integrity that will be invisible to all else than the mod composition maker.

I believe that BGT 1.19 still contains an error in Durlag's Tower Basement Level 4.

In vanilla BG1 every pawn that reaches opposite end of chessboard gets promoted to queen.

Ascension64 never implemented this behavior in BGT.

It was fixed some time ago. There are traps (SPWI942.spl) which used to reference QUEEN.cre instead of the renamed BGQUEEN.cre in the replace self effect. You'll find this fix in bgt.tp2:

//QUEEN_CHANGE
COPY_EXISTING ~spwi942.spl~ ~override/spwi942.spl~
 READ_LONG 0x64 abil_off
 READ_SHORT 0x68 abil_num
 READ_LONG 0x6a fx_off
 READ_SHORT 0x70 fx_global_num

 SET fx_total_num = %fx_global_num%

 FOR (i = 0; i < "%abil_num%"; i += 1) BEGIN
  READ_SHORT (%abil_off% + %i% * 0x38 + 0x1E) fx_abil_num
  SET fx_total_num += %fx_abil_num%
 END

 FOR (i = 0; i < "%fx_total_num%"; i += 1) BEGIN
   READ_SHORT ("%fx_off%" + 0x30 * %i%) fx_type
   PATCH_IF ("%fx_type%" = 151) BEGIN //Type: Replace Self
     READ_ASCII ("%fx_off%" + 0x30 * %i% + 0x14) fx_resref
     PATCH_IF ("%fx_resref%" STRING_EQUAL_CASE "QUEEN") BEGIN
       WRITE_ASCII ("%fx_off%" + 0x30 * %i% + 0x14) "BGQUEEN" (8)
     END
   END
 END
BUT_ONLY

I've tested this and it works fine. Check if your SPWI942.spl has BGQUEEN.cre set as the resource for the replace self effect.

Thank you. I wasn't aware that the problem was already fixed, my last playthrough was few years ago.
