ehm, I tried using the last version of your mod and...

NOT INSTALLED DUE TO ERRORS Restored Final Slayer Dream

D:\backup videogames\Baldur's Gate 2>

ERROR: Failure("Unknown function: HANDLE_CHARSETS")
Restored locations (Almateria's Restoration Project) was not installed due to errors.

Edit: I've just downloaded 6.3 and it works perfectly.

it's because the mod is clearly telling us that we should spend more time together

could anyway be BWS going crazy? Because I think it could be it. Although I'm not that sure.

Or this: ERROR: Failure("Unknown function: HANDLE_CHARSETS")

Could just be the renamed weidu.exe v236.00 telling that it can't use the v236.02's function(on a different .tp2 file) when it's not updated to be v236.02 . Logic, has nothing on the Imp's.

So, you need to update all the weidu.exe's to be the latest if one of the mods uses it, or technically the weidu.zip archive the BWS uses to do the update to be the one here.

The same kind of thing happens when you extract the change-log.rar's weidu.exe from the FAQ post, if you don't know that it's older version, and it ends up printing out cheese.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

actually, it makes no fucking sense,

Also now the error seems to be plaguing another part of the mod. Why the fuck does weidu need to be uploaded -.-

Thanks The imp

Edit: the imp, you were right. Subbing the weidu helped me.

Yup, sometimes it's just Weidu having its things.

OT: I saw your demiliches question on G3, have you tried  spell immunity abjuration or sending in Minsc while frenzied (If memory serves me well, he should be immune to imprisonement,  doesn't put out their howls  out of the equation   though).

There shoudl be an antiliches weapon as well (or was that golems, either way, one that has a chance of killing undeads with each strike), moreover you could try equipping Nalia with daystar and use its special ability.

I have attempted to install the most recent version, but I keep getting an error (unknown function HANDLE_CHARSETS). I quickly discovered it was due to using WeiDu version 236 (instead of the beta version 236.02), but even using the beta version is giving the following error:
ERROR: illegal 4-byte read from offset -714756120 of 48120-byte file ar0602.are
ERROR: [ar0602.are] -> [override] Patching Failed (COPY) (Failure("ar0602.are: read out of bounds"))
ERROR: Failure("ar0602.are: read out of bounds")
Restored characters and dialogs (Almateria's Restoration Project) was not installed due to errors.

Judging by the crazy offset, I'd say one of your previous mods has corrupted ar0602.are. fj_are_struct then fails to read from the file.
Yup, sometimes it's just Weidu having its things.
If BW* requires you to do X, and you don't do X, how is that WeiDU's fault?

Yes it was my fault with Weidu.

Anyway, almateria, I've got another thing to note. The new cutscene with the added dialogues by irenicus didn't appear. :/
Could it be because I've dropped imoen and told her to get out without me?

Are you sure? In total, there's the talk between Gaelan and Irenicus, a line by Imoen and a line by Irenicus, which is kinda muffled by everyone chanting incantations at the moment. All of them happen during the Waukeen Promenade cutscene sequence.

I've used dungeon be gone. But still, the truth is that the cutscene didn't have the new lines of dialogue :/

But it still makes no sense that something else touched the cutscene, no ?

According to your files, nothing touched the cutscene, which means you somehow forgot to install it or whatever

I discovered the source of the error I was having; it involved Imoen. Specifically, when I deleted the following segment (from setup-arestorationp.tp2), all (other) parts of the mod installed without error:

//imoens a boy scout!
COMPILE ~arestorationp/dlg/imoenj.d~
EXTEND_BOTTOM ~imoen.bcs~ ~arestorationp/baf/imoen.baf~
COMPILE ~arestorationp/baf/l-trlig.baf~
COPY_EXISTING ~ar0602.are~ override
LPF fj_are_structure
INT_VAR
fj_type = 0
fj_box_left = 2775
fj_box_top = 3239
fj_box_right = 3022
fj_box_bottom = 3410
fj_cursor_idx = 0
fj_vertex_0     = 2775 + (3281 << 16)
fj_vertex_1     = 2839 + (3239 << 16)
fj_vertex_2     = 3022 + (3368 << 16)
fj_vertex_3     = 2955 + (3410 << 16)
fj_trap_active = 1
fj_loc_x = 2895
fj_loc_y = 3326
STR_VAR
fj_structure_type = region
fj_reg_script = L-TRLIG
fj_name = L-LightTrig
END

For some reason, during the second part (when it is editting Imoen's location(?) in ar0602.are), an out of bounds error occurs. I have many mods installed that could potentially affect Imoen (I am installing (most of) the Big World Project), so I am not sure which one is causing the problem / incompatable with your restoration.

I recently got BG2: EE during the Steam summer sales and am finally getting around to checking out different mods. So far, this is the only one that I haven't been able to install. It makes me sad because it looks absolutely amazing =/. I'm not any sort of modder, but I can check the .debug file. This seem to be the issue, but I have no way to wrap my head around it.

I tried installing each component separately, and came up with the exact same error for each one. Any thoughts? It could very well be something on my end. Thanks!

@Brin:

See, that bit of code doesn't change Imoen's location, it adds an extra trigger area to the Irenicus's dungeon. Which, as far as I know the code, does not perform any reads. I know a roundbout way of making it work, and will do it later today.

@Mike:

I'm looking into this as we speak. I don't really have any experience with Steam BG2EE, so it's either an issue pertaining solely to that version or a general bug with the beta version of INFER_CHARSETS.

Yeah, well I suspect that one or all of them:

fj_vertex_0     = 2775 + (3281 << 16)
fj_vertex_1     = 2839 + (3239 << 16)
fj_vertex_2     = 3022 + (3368 << 16)
fj_vertex_3     = 2955 + (3410 << 16)
Goes over the area boundaries, and if that happens, there's a possibility of writing illegal bytes.

"no tabulated charset" means the function is not attempting to infer the charset (infer_charset is not true) and that "english" (case sensitive) is not found in charset_table. Edit: sorry, it's an evaluation bug in the function. Will fix.
