I fixed some stuff and the polish only component has been reintegrated into the restored sounds component. I doesn't appear. And the placeholder is, well, what it says, it keeps other mods from screwing up while referencing ARP's component numbering.

Done. I also improved the tp2 journal handling, added two new journal entries and a new line for the town crier.

Sounded like a promising mod, hopefully more subtle than over-the-top... though as the list of new content grows it makes the mod less, not more, attractive for me.

 

One question: why does the most recent version of the BWP documentation (14.2) recommend installing the entire mod BEFORE BG2Fixpack? That sounds rather questionable/odd...

If it helps, I'm nearing the finishing line, because there's really not much more that could be done, ad I'm not a fan of adding stuff of my own. I just want to be thorough! :( I can assure you that I'm trying to keep the additions as low profile as I can.

 

I don't really know…? I'd assume Leondardo knows better.

Like I know 2 is because I mess around in the beginning cutscene which is then changed by CtB, 3 I discovered myself and it's because the quest pack leaves the random encounter scripts without the block I need for substitution, but 1… I'd imagine it's because of some mass original area patching that needs to be done? Maybe?

Reading the entire entry for the mod in BWP 14.2 (English), it lists all the components with 'Install' (now) next to each one... just before BG2FIxpack.

 

I've already got BG2Fixpack installed (pretty standard that it goes before almost everything except Ascension these days) as well as BGT and a couple of other BGT related mods at this point; I'm interested in adding your mod but this makes it sound like it's too late. I really wish the BWP guys were better about clearer documentation/details, but a lot of them are not native English speakers so I suppose that can't be helped.

 

I'm sure most everyone else reading this has BG2Fixpack installed; did you all install ARP before Fixpack?

It's just a recommended listing, man, I can't imagine there being a single reason as to why it wouldn't work when installed later. Full compatibility with every set of mods at any given point in your install timeline. Glorious.

the word 'must' makes me wonder, assuming they didn't throw it around needlessly/carelessly or it's a non native language issue. Makes it very much sound like there could be some potential conflict or issue. If any BWP guys are able to comment I'd appreciate it.

Thanks to the upcoming Patch 1.3 for BG2EE, the Better Import System component has been disabled for 2EE in the version 8.0.3.

If you're playing the game right now there's no need to drop everything and download version 8.1 update 1 (for workgroups), it only adds a chinese translation.

I got this error when trying to install the latest version. I've attached the weidu log at the point of failure. I commented out this line:

COMPILE ~arestorationp/dlg/multi.d~

and was able to install successfully. Maybe there's a problem with the .D file or is it my installation?

Is this a fresh install? It probably is but since it's trying to do an impossible read it means multig has been changed.
Solution: Delete multig.dlg from override. Drawbacks: Could probably mess things up.

Could you attach or mail me multig.dlg?

Actually I think this might be a problem on my end. I started getting

ERROR: Unix.Unix_error(20, "stat", "stratagems/mage/resource/dw#vamim.spl")

when installing stratagems. I'm going to clean wipe and reinstall to see if it still gives me the error. I've attached the multi.d though.

Sorry about that. I've already started a new install though and trashed my previous one. This is the one currently in my override though. If it fails again I'll attach the failed multig.dlg.

Looks like Solaufein might have done this?

Ugh yeah, in setup-solaufein.tp2 it compiles it's own multi.d which appears to destroy everything else.

Haha, yeah I agree with you there. I guess to be fair this was written way back by Dr.Weimer himself so maybe he wasn't taking that into consideration. Should this be documented somewhere for multimod installations?
