i really really like this idea...

what do you think guys, doable or not???

I'm not sure if this is doable at all, but I've been thinking to do something like that for ages. I always thought it would fir bards much more than their current spell system. In addition, I'd like to add a few more changes:
- they'd receive illusion, light, sound based spells only, but from a greater repertoire than mages or sorcs (5-10 different (old, changed, or new) spells/ spell levels would be available for them, up to 6th level).
- I'm not sure about giving them the ability to learn MAGE spells from scrolls...

well, from what little i understand of the sorceror kit class definitions, using it as the basis of a new bard kit creation, would make it impossible for a bard to learn spells from a scroll anyway...

even if the sorcerous bard does not conform exactly to 3rd edition rules, a playable fighter with sorcerous spell casting ability would be very welcomed by the community, i think...

toss in skald, jester and blade abilities, and you would really have something here... ^_^

I don't know if this, or something like it, has been done(I haven't been too deep into most of the mods), but I would like to see Archers be able to fire a near constant stream of arrows, Legolas style, x number of times per day as levels are gained(the way Called Shot is). I would call it Rapid Fire or something of that nature. Just a suggestion, if it's plausable.

and really, who bothers carrying around +3 weapons in the game, really???

<raises hand>Me...My Undead Hunter's second weapon of choice was Azuredge. I carried it till the end and dropped a couple of liches with just one hit.

Points taken. :D I was thinking of an inherent ablility rather than a HLA. Greater Whirlwind = 10 attacks per round is reasonable. Never tried the improved haste one, but will give it a shot, no pun intended. :lol: I like the way you think...I'll be keeping my eye on you two. :lol:

its really simple...with grandmastery, and with ease of use unnerfed grandmastery patch, minsc the archer shoots 8 times per round...

with bracers of extraordinary weapons expertise from watchers keep, he shoots around nine...and frankly, it lasts a heck of a lot longer than g whirlwind...

and anytime he targets someone really nasty, i activate called shot...

since called shot saving throw penalty stacks with itself...

ping, ping, ping, ping, ping...feeblemind!!!

I would Really like to see a new wizard kit though im not sure what or perhaps a sorcerer priest kit maybe a priest of bhall would have a sorcerer type spell table as he gets it from his father.
If you are stuck on strongholds then maybe you can just have some revered high priest come to the protagonist and give him assignments it obviously is not the same with a bhall deity...

If you'd like to see something new, something close to wizards/sorcerers/clerics, then stay tuned for the Fire Guardian kit for v2! ;) IF we manage to code it, it may bring a very nice flavour to this game... :)

pssst...valheru, its quite easy to make some cleric and druid spells usable by sorcerors...

tgm, it sounds like a variant of the druidic sorceror kit...

the problem i had with the druidic sorceror kit is really simple...some of the new spells, they work correctly, but would be messed up when you cast chain contingency...three or more copies of the same spell would show up, and push out the other spells that should be usable in the chain on the same level..

don't worry, i've been hacking sorcerors for a very long time now, and when you release the new kit, i will beta test it to complete destruction.. ^_^

Not exactly. It will be quite different in many aspects, if it becomes reality that is ^_^ . Fire Guardian will represent the same quality and detail as seen by Sword Angel ;) .

How about restoring parity in regards to evil people going shopping. It doens't really make any sense that your feared and despised git of the ages isn't served because people don't like him.

Kinda removes the whole fear element.


That sounds more like something that should be added to Virtue if you ask me.

And since Virtue and Refinements work in collaboration, it is very likely I'll have this as an optional component for a future release. Definetly not for v1 though. ;)

This can actually be done quite easily.
Take a look at the REPMODST.2DA file it ought to be self explaining

If you don?t have the time to do this I could send you my own modified file.

EDIT: I've not tested it much though
