Here is one for you.

How about restoring parity in regards to evil people going shopping. It doens't really make any sense that your feared and despised git of the ages isn't served because people don't like him.

Kinda removes the whole fear element.

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?


Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.

That sounds more like something that should be added to Virtue if you ask me.

And since Virtue and Refinements work in collaboration, it is very likely I'll have this as an optional component for a future release. Definetly not for v1 though. ;)

BTW thanks for the idea Seif!

How about some cleric kits? Surely Talos, Helm and Lathander aren't the only gods around. Temples of Illmater, Ohgma and Umberlee are everywhere. How about Tyr, Mystra or Bane? I always hated the kits they gave us in BG2. Other gods would of been neat. Cyric would probably be a nogo. More choices would make me want to play a cleric, methinks. :)

Rangers always seem to get shafted. How about giving them an extra racial enemy every 5 levels? Like in 3e.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. The only real problem with this one is that there are very much specified clerical strongholds in the game (Lathander, Talos, Helm) and a cleric of some other ethos would seem a little bit.. strange in those temples :huh: .
A priest of Bhaal would be an interesting idea, it would require much thinking at creation because of the nature of the story. Bane, Tyr and Torm sound good, I'll think on this.

More choices would make me want to play a cleric, methinks.

Thats because you haven't tried the new HLAs for clerics.. after you see (for example) the evil version of Divine Intervention (not in the mod yet), you'll definetly start a cleric :rolleyes: .

Maybe new strongholds could be made in some distant future? The reason I mentioned Illmater, Ohgma and Umberlee is because they already have temples. As a matter of fact so does Waukeen. At the top of my head, I might be missing some.

Yes I did see those new HLAs. They will make me want to try every class. They look awesome! So far *the* best element in your mod, IMHO. :)

From what I hear, many additional cleric kits are being developed by Andyr/NiGHTMARE for the Lands of Intrigue mod. It will be a welcomed addition, regardless of its distribution, as I tend to play clerics and would welcome a bit more variety for FR deities.

I'll discuss this with the guys, and in case they'll do the cleric problem, we will concentrate on the kits mentioned in the TODO first. We shall see.

When it comes down to clerics, I would personally like to see clerics of Mystra, Gond, and Ohgma(Ohgma especially, I find a religion based around learning to be highly appealing)

I could be easily swayed into this. Ohgma clerics have a great chance to bet into the mod.

This is true.

I made a list and did some work a while ago for quite a number of clerics- most of the popular human gods and some from each of the other pantheons.

Im pretty sure this isnt already planned, and i dunno if its possible, but how about some specific HLAs for multiclassed characters, like a Cleric/Mage wulti would have access to some powerful HLAs which combine the two types of magic. Im not sure if they actually could do this, but its just an example. Another would be a Mage/Theif using his magic to aid his theif skills or something. You get the picture

@Camdawg: I didn't mention this before over at the Delainy boards, but I had the Refinements mod installed when I was playtesting Delainy. I had Cernd (Refinements werewolf fix) and Delainy in my party, and there wasn't much difference between the two as far as game play went. Cernd's werewolf form wasn't dispellable, Yay, and a few of the weakest enemies couldn't hit him (immune to non-magical weapons) but for the most part his werewolf form was very balanced, and by no means overpowered. Since you hadn't coded up your version of the werewolf fix the last time I checked, I'd recommend trying to get a copy of the Refinements version of the fix.



A more general question/comment. Since lycanthropes react badly to silver, would it be possible to implement a piece of coding that transfers any silver items from a shapeshifter to other party members (I've shamelessly stolen this idea from the Delainy mod)?

Cross-mod compatibility has been one of my priorities from the start, so I'd be more than happy to share code with y'all. For the silver items it's a simple snippet of scripting. I'll mail it over when I get the chance.

since aerie is already a hacked up and non legal char (cleric mages must be half elven) why not a specialist cleric kit, a baervan wanderer (gnomish god) and a racoon mask holy symbol for her??? i really would love to see some personalization of the clerics in the game...

urm...while i was goofing off playing check the bodies to day, i read a book in the mod that noted the origins of the harpers...and their symbol is of a golden harp, surrounded by a crescent moon, in a field of stars...now jaheira's harper pin could look seriously cool and utterly neat if it was made to look like that... :)

Something like this will be in the mod, if not for v1, than for v2.
One thing is for sure: Multiclassed characters will have a special HLA table in Reinements, even in v1.

Me too. This would be a truly nice component for Refinements, but ONLY for v2 or 3.

About Clerical kits: strongholds are an issue, and Use Scrolls is another!

A cleric can dual to a thief, this means that each new clerical kit must be included in the "shadow kits" engine, and some scripting must be added. Doable, now I'm comfortable with the mechanism, but it's something to consider...

About shapeshifters, even though I hate to redo things ( :P ), if it's possible to build a common version of the fix with CamDawg it'd be better I think.
I have still to do the rest of the shapeshifting fixes and I have freedom of choice, it seems, about a couple of issues.

Shapeshifters are supposed to have studied long and hard to control their Lycanthropy, so does this really make sense?
