Mmm, only sane solution would be to trash that damn thing from override, no harm I guess but I will wait for expert advice. Couple of other minor things:



We do not tamper with charbase.cre lightly.

change-log the relative cdpp01.itm files... and by relative, I mean the items those items are inheriting their code from:

Hm, that must be Anthology components (cd prefix ) of two handed bastard swords, katanas and axes or less likely revised weapon proficiencies ( never used those things before but felt little adventurous this time ) or even less likely P&P protection items ( used them before with SCS without problems ). At first I thought that 1pp is culprit...

EDIT: This item  is some stupid ring which looks like ring of wizardry....

Sounds like the same problem reported in this thread.  I haven't investigated whether the .itm file from Wheels of Prophecy is corrupted in some way or if Tweaks is mangling it for no reason, but don't use those components together until it's fixed.

Yes, thanks Mike, I can confirm item in question is dw#melri from wheels/misc ( never wanted it anyway, just wanted restored ToB talking heads, wish there is option for original Kaeloree's mod in BWS  but alas... ) changed by cdtweaks/backup/1250. I will just remove cdpp31.itm  from override and continue with installation, have no strength for third try...

Something is really bad with this upload, BWS downloaded it every time (4 of 5 times now ) in this couple of days and it size is never correct...

BWP vs BWS has code to support the finicky Sandrah, specifically this issue. Maybe BWS can use the same code. I think you can do it manually. Maybe tonight I can tell you how. Ran into same issue when I tried BWS.

I can't tell you how much grief these three trice damn rings gave me ( and Lollorian's fixer too, it lost at least a couple of teeth on them ). Here are they in case someone want to see what the hell is wrong with them:

Here is one question for resident modding and player experts, BWS changed majority of Bioware NPC to custom portraits. No, it is not any one of big portraits packs ( strictly been careful about that, didn't install any of them, I plan to do that only when I solve this issue ), all I done was to patch BG1 NPC to use their BG2 portraits ( when applicable ) and Ajantis to use his default portrait with RezLoll's consistent portraits components and BG1NPC project similar stuff. Any of that didn't help me to  reach my goal: revert original Bioware characters to their default portraits. I guess than I can search internet for their  default portraits and put them to override but I'm not sure that even that will help me because I biffed the files. Already tried to revert some portraits with Shadow keeper but I can't, there are no default portraits anywhere...

The reason why you can't usually do this is that the ,cre reference to the picture file has changed.
You can --change-log the .cre file and find which mod changes that aspect... or just read the file name with NI (CRE folder, .cre file, "Edit" view and the file names are in the offsets 34 h and 3c h if you have the hex showing, ), and rename the .bmp as that and put it into the override folder.

Hey Imp, on my enormous shame I have no clue how to change-log and use NI:blush: But I guess it is time to learn. Where can I download latest NI? As for the mods that change Bio NPC those are Sandrah, Tortured Souls ( Sarevok ) and maybe Lava's Skie for BG2. In the meantime I extracted original portraits with SK from ToB and BG:TOS. There's a link in the "Near Infinity" -topic here in SHSforums. Surprise. Direct download link of a recent .zip file that you need extract to your game folder and then run the extracted NearInfinity.jar file with a Java Run Time program. Or you can of course extract it elsewhere too....

--change-log is made by running a .bat file with the file specific code in it in the game folder... a .bat file can be made from a .txt file by renaming it as a .bat file... usually you should have the file extensions on in Windows.

As for the mods that change Bio NPC those are Sandrah, Tortured Souls ( Sarevok ) and maybe Lava's Skie for BG2. In the meantime I extracted original portraits with SK from ToB and BG:TOS. The .cre files of a certain NPC should use the same .bmp files the same files... so if they were patched with that intent, just switching the picture file into the override folder should make the adjustment. And yes, the override folder overwrites the .bif files just like the originally biffed file did before they were biffed from the override folder that overwrote the original file in the games .bifs .

In case you succeeded to install Sandrah, things may be a bit more easy as the mod gives the same portrait name to some NPCs that appear from different mods with different portraits etc. (Unless some later mod changed it again). For those NPCs just give the names below to the portrait file of your choice and all incarnations of the respective NPC should look the same:

Kivan >>> Kivans + Kivanm

Nalia >>> Naliass + Naliamm

Branwen >>> Branwes + Branwem

Jaheira >>> Njaheirs + NJaheirm

small and medium portrait obviously

In case you succeeded to install Sandrah, things may be a bit more easy as the mod gives the same portrait name to some NPCs that appear from different mods with different portraits etc. (Unless some later mod changed it again). For those NPCs just give the names below to the portrait file of your choice and all incarnations of the respective NPC should look the same:

Hi Roxanne, thanks for the hint. It work on some of them but Imoen, Nalia and most of BG1 characters refused plastic surgery. 

No matter, I will manage somehow. Sorry to hear that Sandrah is no longer available for BGT, happy to catch last boat with her in it. Best of luck with her and EET...

Little bit about kits, especially thief kits this time. First of all Loll's kit guide 9.5 didn't make it in the game folder, stayed stuck in downloads. Secondly thug kit from Paladins of Faerun kitpack and Ninja from RTT kitpack are incompatible with TDD kitpack which contains same kits, only got TDD versions. Lastly that french Pirate kit is installed on french on my english install ( at least it's description which is long somewhat)...

There are several incompatibilities regarding cleric kits in BWS ( not at all strange given number of mods with same kits ). ROT and TDD priests of Auril are mutually exclusive, only got ROT version, same goes for Priest of Mystra and Priest of Tempus from TDD and RTT kitpacks, this time winner was TDD. There is minor bug regarding Priest of Amaunator TDD kit,  its description states that half elves can use it, but that is not the case, kit is assigned to halfling race instead ( why demihumans so venerate human gods in TDD is hilarious, just look for some priest kit selection regarding different races ). I see that TDD forum is moved so I posted it here...
