Rjali is only for BG2:EE. I had misinterpreted one of the author's statements about compatibility.

http://forums.blackw....php/t5292.html

Perhaps TDDz can remove the duplicate Yeslick -- does he have any extra content in TDD or is he just an import of the BG1 NPC creature?

TDDz should not import NPCs - they have no contents, just duplicates.

The Sandrah Saga

another piece of *buggy, cheesy, unbalanced junk*

Yeah, saw that thread, still hoped that you modding wizards managed to pull off some trick to make her work in BWS. Oh, well, back to same old boring fidelity in BGT:D

About Yeslick, these are some facts about him in TDD:

Yeslick - Returning from BG. A cleric found in temple district near the Temple of Lathlander, who returns there if kicked out.

Yeslick (Found in the temple district near the temple of Lathlander)

As far as I can tell there are no quests related to Yeslick. He is in Athkatla investigating the Unseeing Eye, but when I took him along for this quest he said nothing and there were no additional tasks that needed performing. Feel free to correct me on this matter if you know differently.

These are from TDD guide. Also I vaguely remember from my last playing of TDD that he attacks you if your reputation is too low...

I would really appreciate a little help here. That BP grand mastery rule look really good but I would like to know is it affect also non warrior classes? That would eliminate need for similar Big tweak component (Everybody gets ApR from proficiency, only Warriors from level). If not, I modified BG tweak grandmastery component to my liking ( just changed *** to add 2 to hit chances instead of 3, which is too steep IMHO). But if I used it, will before mentioned Big tweak component overwrite it or be compatible with it? Also my  newest expert BWS has that little annoying habit to change my choices if there are similar components so I must often check my custom made preference list. So, I'm worried that TDD or RoT will override my custom BG2 tweak grandmastery change, can I prevent that? Also, I would really, really like to know what Big picture component 000 really does, its readme is very vague about it ( just add detectable spells and "couple BP specific things"). I really don't want to play overhauled game with different rules under motto " find it yourself, it's so much more fun".

There is one feature of BWS that is little inconvenient , overriding of your choices upon exit without your knowing. Example is refinements and Nathaniel, you can't install both because he can't use his items anymore. Big deal. It confused me why refinements refused to load as install checked choice every time when I turn BWS anew until I turned off mods in conflict . I don't care about that guy one whit, there is whole battalion of NPC, as is the case with Arcane archer. But revised spells and items caused me to lost many choices until I actually get to them and turned them off. I wish there is some warning when you exit from expert BWS about your lost choices and especially opportunity to install Big picture or BG2 tweak grandmastery tweak with TDD and ROT...

That is why I still prefer to use the individual.bat file from BWP (I guess I am a zombie). Yes it takes me a few more hours, but the control over what will gets loaded is worth the absence of frustration later. Once I start a BP game, I will be playing for two years (yes I play slow).

Greenhorn, can you clarify what you would like us to change in BWS?  I'm guessing you had Refinements and Nathaniel selected and then clicked Back twice, and so BWS "auto-solved" the conflict by disabling Refinements while keeping Nathaniel.  Do you want a pop-up dialogue showing what changes were made with a yes/no option, like when you manually click the solve buttons on the conflict/dependency page?

... or was it that you quit and restarted BWS?

I used former while I was looking various mods in BWS and compared them with BWP guide but when I downloaded newest version couple of days before I confess that I done latter to save time and continue with my latest selection from where I left. I guess impatience to finally start get better of me, mea culpa. I guess I should not  just quit in belief that BWS will save and load just like I left it...But yes, some kind of warning about override of choices when you continue with selection would be nice if it is doable as I expected that solving of conflicts would come after choosing of your ideal configuration and trying to proceed to actually install it...

Thanks for the feedback.  I've pushed the following change:  "Don't autosolve conflicts and dependencies when reloading last saved selection or when switching between theme-view and install-order view" -- I think this will avoid any scenarios where BWS would change your selection without informing you, so please let me know if it happens again.

Sounds like lots of improvement in BWS since the last time I tried it. I will look at it again.

I would really appreciate a little help here. That BP grand mastery rule look really good but I would like to know is it affect also non warrior classes?
The BP grandmastery tweak modifies WSPATCK.2da only. You need the TobEx tweak also to apply the changes to non warrior classes.

The Bigg Tweaks tweak has the following effects:

3500=WSPATCK for all (Taimon) -> Always
3550=WSPATCK for all (Taimon) -> Only for ** and up
3600=WSPATCK for all (Taimon) -> Everybody gets ApR from proficiency, only Warriors from level

All variants of this tweak modify the TobEx_ini\TobExTweak.ini file to enable the engine tweak that applies WSPATCK.2da to classes other than fighters:

Engine:Weapon Specialisation Number of Attacks Mod=1

The TobEx_ini\TobEx_ini.txt file describes this feature as follows:

-----990 Weapon Specialisation Number of Attacks Mod [C, T]

Modifies the application of weapon specialisation-associated number of attacks bonuses described by WSPATCK.2DA
Specifically, all non-monk classes receive such a bonus based on their average level
Originally, ranger, paladin, and fighter classes received such a bonus based on their fighter level, while other non-monk classes received no bonus
Calculation of such a bonus for the monk class is unchanged

The 3550 component does the above and also patches WSPATCK.2da.

The 3600 component does the above and also patches every kit installed in the game to gain a special class ability at levels 7 through 13 that applies the proficiency tweak selectively...

Therefore, if you want the BP grandmastery rules applied to all classes, use The Biggs Tweak #3500 with the BP tweak component.

Edit:

BWS -- Added The Bigg Tweaks' WSPATCK for All #3550 and #3600 to grandmastery conflict rule -- 3500 does not conflict (just enables TobEx tweak) and is now the default pre-selection instead of 3600

Thank you for clarification on this matter. But as always, I have more questions.  First of all, judging from experiences with conflicts I will not be able to install BP tweak component with TDD or ROT because they are preferred to it ( same goes for BG2 tweak grandmastery fix which I modified a little to my liking). Is there a workaround? Second, I don't want to change non warrior classes to have same bonuses like warriors ( i.e. to get extra half attack at 7th and 13th level, that is what what tobex and first option of bigs's tweaks do if I understand it correctly), just to have bonus from weapon proficiency, examples: swashbuckler at level 7 with specialization with weapon will have 1.5 APR, while fighter gets 2, level 13 ninja thief  kit from TDD with grandmastery gets 2 APR while fighter of same level and skill gets 3 etc. For that I think that I need Big's option 3600 which is in conflict with other grandmastery rules and is almost certainly bugged. Looked at one of my old weidu logs and contrary to what I believed I did installed my custom kit before this tweak and still all NPC had it's benefits while my custom paladin kit didn't get extra half attack at 7th level. I had to uninstall this option to get normal play. Ahh, I don't know, perhaps it is better to forget whole thing and just take what is served ( TDD, old BG1 grandmastery for warriors only). Friendly advice for all of you, don't buy ednet wireless optical mouses, I will smash this piece of c*** on the wall, took me hour just to write this post...

I don't know exactly how that 3600 component works - I haven't looked at the class ability file (tb#tatt.spl) that it adds to kits. You might want to ask The Bigg directly in his mod's forum.

As for how to override the conflict rule in BWS, just right-click the line on the conflicts page and choose "ignore this problem"

Edit: also to be clear, the TobEx APR tweak is disabled by default, so the only way to enable it is to use the Biggs Tweaks or manually edit the TobEx ini file.

Yes,  I know, just like drop items on certain states, disable end game when player1 bites the dust and so on. Actually I prefer that way, don't need to install mods that do the same.

This is game saver, thank you!

Unrelated  to topic, newer is not necessarily better, WIRED optical mouses rule, wireless suck eggs big time.

The ToBEx APR tweak doesn't work correctly on its own. WSPATCK.2da includes, in a single file, BOTH the APR increases for specialization/grandmastery, AND the APR increases for reaching level 7 and 13. If you enable all classes to get these benefits, no -warriors will get extra APR at levels 7 and 13, which they're not supposed to.

The Bigg's tweak fixes this by enabling the ToBEx feature, but editing WAPATCK.2da to remove the bonuses for levels 7 and 13. Instead, it applies a spell granting a 0.5 APR increase at levels 7 and 13, in the CLAB files of every warrior kit (that's "tb#att.spl").

IMO The Bigg's tweak is the proper way to reach the goal of giving Swashbucklers and other no -warriors bonus APR for specialization.

(That's on BGT/TOB, anyway. If you're playing the EEs you need my mod "APR on Spec")

And to clarify, when I say "the Bigg's tweak is the proper way," I specifically mean component 3600.

Component 103:

IWO part 3: Distinctions between Light and Heavy Weapons

Light, low-damage weapons get a +1 thac0 bonus. So beginning adventurers will be better off using light, simple weapons until they gain experience and their thac0 improves - unless they are strong enough to wield the heavy weapons comfortably, or they are skilled in a weapon style that grants thac0 bonuses. These weapons include short swords, daggers, clubs, war hammers, spears, and quarterstaves.

Heavy weapons that are inappropriate for dual-wielding get a -1 penalty to off-hand thac0. These include bastard swords, katanas, and flails.

Dual Wielding Changes for Light and Heavy Weapons (*)
This component alters the penalties for dual-wielding by assigning off-hand THAC0 bonuses and penalties to all weapons based on their size/weight. Daggers, short swords, wakizashis, ninja-tos, and clubs are considered light and give a +1 bonus to off-hand THAC0. Bastard swords, flails, and katanas are considered heavy and give a -1 penalty to off-hand THAC0. All other melee weapons are classified as medium and have no bonuses or penalties.

Although not in direct conflict these two components from Scales of balance and Item revision are close enough that warrant some warning to player to choose only one...
