Something seems to corrupted two weapon style fighting. Pattern that repeats is that my character uses off hand weapon for primary attack i.e. of four attacks at least three will be with off hand, usually only first is with the main. Primary suspects are Tobex, maybe fixpack or Item revisions "Dual Wielding Changes for Light and Heavy Weapons". Need more testing though since I for now use weapons my PC is not proficient with ( still waiting to find good katana ).

Is this the animation or the damage based observation ?
Yeah, the animations don't actually have any real effect in game.

Yeah, the animations don't actually have any real effect in game.

No, it is simply result of reading text at the bottom of the screen, with all options enabled. For some reason my PC just love to swing dagger in his off hand instead of some sort of Moonblade in his main hand. Both are dagger proficiency ( light weapons, cumulative +1 to off hand attack). Still early to give final judgments but with improved haste ( and without it ) only first attack is with main weapon, next 2 or 3 with the off ( left handed ). It's like something reversed usual pattern. Maybe it is result of non proficiency with weapons, but even in that case, normal pattern should be main, off, main, off and so on. Hopefully I will soon find some katana or wakizashi and then see is there are any changes... I recall that I read something about dual fighting, how maybe Tobex or BG2fixpack maybe "correct" some aspects of it, but in my present near delirious state I'm really not sure...

1) What is your normal, base APR? 1? (I.e. are you a warrior over level 7 and/or with specialization? Or a non-warrior?)

2) Are you using my "IWO: functional weapon tweaks" mod component? Put a mace ir something in your main-hand and nothing in your off-hand... then replace it with a dagger. Do daggers have +.5 APR compared to other weapons?

I've read the ToBEx can do weird things with half attacks... like, all half attacks use the off-hand weapon.

So, if that's right (IF), then say you have 3/2 APR in your main hand, and a weapon in your off-hand, you would effectively have 5/2 APR. It should look like this:
- Round 1: 1 main-hand attack, 1 off-hand.
- Round 2: 2 main-hand attacks, 1 off-hand.

...But instead, ToBEx does this:
- Round 1: 1 main-hand attack, 1 off-hand.
- Round 2: 1 main-hand attack, 2 off-hand.

Why, I don't know. And please note this is second-hand (ha!) information, not verified by me.

(Personally, if ToBex does do that, I'm perfectly okay with it, because dual-wielding could use the nerf...)

Hey Subtledoctor, that is what I meant when I wrote that Tobex maybe has something to do with it. But to answer your questions:

1. Yes, 1 APR, warrior kit, second level

2. I didn't include this component for this run

If dual wielding issue exist than I think that it maybe has something with Tobex. We shall see, but when I reloaded game for another couple of rounds of fun with Obe's illusions ( good for fundraising since illusions now drop loot, but also little dangerous because damage from those bastard swords which  hobgoblins wield is quite real  :o  :lol: ) issue seems to be gone ( normal main weapon attack, then off, then normal ).But what got worried me this time are warrior feats from your mod. After resting in Winthrop's inn I get my spend innate abilities back but on my surprise also two extra warrior feats ( which I shamelessly used  :blush:  :D ). Seems that game thinks they are my innate spells and I probably can expect more of them after rests...

Oooh, that's a problem. The feat is supposed to be removed after 59 seconds and then re-granted at 60 seconds. Looks like the removal isn't working. I'll fix it

You know, you can't export a .dlg file and expect it to make sense to anyone other than you as it only contains the dialog strings variables, not the string content. For that you need to --change-log the file, find what mod edits the file and then copy paste the .d file of that mod.

I am sure that you really traced down whatever problem you had to that dialogue, i.e your issue is NOT the vanilla spells triggered by the dialogue which may have been subject to change by one or more spell changing mods (one that turns those vanilla game spells into nightmares that destroy your party and the Friendly Arm with one casting).

 

As such an investigation is the pre-requisite for condemming the author of a dialogue to the modder's abyss, I am 100% sure you did that, your accusations are really against this dialogue and nothing else

 

- and therefore your wish has been granted to you:

the mod is deleted and the author banned from modding.

But here is what one of those mods do: force Aganazzar scorcher on player1 as soon as it see it, then after half round ( 3 seconds ) fireball on player4. In my case near entrance to Friendly arm inn from the other side of the map. Had enough time to scatter party, so only poor Jaheira bite the dust, oh and player1 was Improved invisible but still hit by scorcher. Survived and run a circle around hobgoblins so that they can taste their own medicine. Still most stupid thing that I saw in this game to date. Can't understand author of this abomination, it ruins the game big time...

I am sure that you really traced down whatever problem you had to that dialogue, i.e your issue is NOT the vanilla spells triggered by the dialogue which may have been subject to change by one or more spell changing mods (one that turns those vanilla game spells into nightmares that destroy your party and the Friendly Arm with one casting).

 

As such an investigation is the pre-requisite for condemming the author of a dialogue to the modder's abyss, I am 100% sure you did that, your accusations are really against this dialogue and nothing else

 

- and therefore your wish has been granted to you:

the mod is deleted and the author banned from modding.

It wasn't meant to be personal attack on anyone, especially not on you. But I won't lie you, I think this was VERY BAD idea.

Look, real problem is that this script forces this spell even on invisible character who hasn't reveal itself, effectively condemning most level 1 characters to death, and this spell, contrary to it's description has double effect ( hit two times, old bug from ToB, left same old description from SoA). And then force fireball from two miles on party on other side of map. And no, I didn't know that your mod was doing this, believe it or not...

With this code it is not a BGT mod but BG2/ToB only.

Otherwise (since Imoen2 and Jaheira are as well BG1-part characters) there should be a Global("endofbg1","GLOBAL",2) in the triggers - In this specific case it should even have GlobalGT("Chapter","Global",1) in order not to trigger in Irenicus dungeon before Khalid's body is discovered.

With this code it is not a BGT mod but BG2/ToB only.

By the way my intention wasn't to bash and discredit anyone's work, just my honest ( and maybe worthless :P ) opinion  from player perspective. Small consolation perhaps, but  truth...

PS - here is what my mod added to the game

And you get +1 REP and 400xp from Joia for bringing the ring and 600xp when killing the hobgoblin - thus the whole episode should be far more balanced than it was before (just to kill a simple hobgoblin for exaggerated reward- even the guards at the FAI could have done the job, why would it require a hero party to do it?)

 

But the fact that I fail to see anything wrong with this, makes me deserve my ban and the mods deletion even more.
