is there a BWP build that combines BGEE and BG2EE much like BWP can combine BG1 and BG2 into a single huge game?  Seems like not at this time given the choices in the BWP GUI but wanted to make sure I was reading that right...

thanks!

The EE games aren't ready, nor the mods.

Why ? You might ask. The last patch for the EE games is not out yet, and the EET is still on beta, as it's missing a whole game from the complete edition... so. Which is why the EET is not even officially out.

This all means that you can make a smaller install from the Enhanced Edition games ... cause there's a lot more compatible mods to the BG2 game, than either of the EE games combines.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Thanks Imp.  I will hold off on playin EE then until later.  But that raises another question.  I did a fresh install and tried a "Recommended" build for playthrough.  Once downloading and decompression is done, right at the beginning of the install, I get the following:

Leonardo's BiG World Fixpack v15
                   --------------------------------

                     Just sit back and watch...
This tool is making the job for you!

This tool fixes bugs in different mods.
You can also use it without a megamod.

First all fixes will be installed according to the instructions.
You are prompted to make a choice at several times.

processing fixes for "1pp"

And after that it sits.  I left it for 16+ hours and nothing.  Im thinking something is wrong... Recommendations?

Are you using BWP from the command line or through the BWS tool?

I am using the BWS tool, I believe.

I downloaded: BigWorldSetup-bigworldsetup-7adcf266c8d1

and from within that I run: BiG World Setup.au3   via the AutoIt3.exe

The Fixpack step shouldn't hang like that.  Can you upload your BiG World Setup\Config\Setup.ini and BiG World Setup\Config\User.ini and BiG World Install Debug.txt (should be in your BiG World Setup\Logs folder)?

this is actually normal on Windows 10 PRO (not sure if on HOME too). Even if you are logged as administrator you can't use Big World Fixpack normally. On Windows 7 PRO you could bypass this with granting yourself full UAC access, but it no longer works on 10, at least for me. ALIEN added this to BiG World Fixpack.bat:

setlocal
cd /d %~dp0

so BWS will probably run fine if you start it with right mouse button -> "Run as administrator" but it's still a major annoyance. If it's possible I would suggest switching current Big World Fixpack code entirely to weidu commands and run the patcher executable with AT_NOW.

That may be it exactly.  Running on Win 10 Pro.  Trying it with "run as Administrator" now.

Is it possible with WeiDU commands to do a recursive iteration and apply conditional actions for every file and folder in a particular directory (fixpack top level), without copying them?  I guess you could do it with an INNER_ACTION inside a COPY of the whole fixpack folder with an IF expression that is never true...?

Well, it installed.  Thanks very much for getting me that far.  But, video issues.  My previous install was tactical and it ran in 1920x1080 with no problems.  This time, BG defaulted to much lower resolution, and when I raised the video resolution via BGConfig (Max 1280x960!), it still looks low-res, just much bigger.   Hmm.. did the install miss something or do I need to add high-res graphics mod back in manually when doing a "recommended" build?

Can you post your weidu.log?

(Max 1280x960!),

More like 1024x768 ... That's the max partially supported resolution. And yeah, if you want bigger numbers than that, you need to install the Widescreen mod. And yes, you can install it manually to the above weidu.log'ed game.

Great and thanks Imp.  In my downloads directory I have three files that might be what I'm looking for:

widescreen-latest.zip

widescreen-master.zip

widscreen-v3.07.exe

Any or all?  in what order if more than one required?

And, while looking this up, anyone know what mod allows you to choose sub-races.  I remember in my tactical build, I was an elf and was given a choice of sub-races after creation (60ish seconds after beginning in Candlekeep). Would that mod be add-in-able after the fact like the widescreen one above?

Thanks!

All I can tell you is that mod in question is FinnJO's Subrace mini-mod for Baldur's Gate 2 v1.0
