This sounds like an opportunity for a new mod for casual gamers ... Some macabre necromancy has struck Faerun, transforming hapless gibberlings into liches and other undead abominations... Bhaalspawn beware.

BiG World Fixpack (community collection of mod fixes and compatibility patches, with user-friendly cross-platform script)

BiG World Setup (tool to automate best-practice installation of Infinity Engine mods on Windows, with conflict analysis)

The bigger issue with this thread is not anything to do with cheating. It's that, BGEE is not a game tha has HLAs in it. Play to level 40 all you want, but those spells don't exist in the game files.

So the easiest way to make this work is to change the XP at which HLAs kick in, to something like 80,000,000. This way, you can level up all you want and never get stuck at that screen.

That mod would be a LOT easier to implement than a mod adding the BG2 HLAs in BG1. (And, it would not involve redistribution of copyrighted materials. I once made a mod that ported the EE monk kits to the old engine. Still have it sitting around. But I'm not going to distribute it.)

Alternatively, just play EET, which I understand has a publicly available beta right now.

Well, the BG1 was no designed to be played at level 40.
The BG2 was not either, the ToB was planed to be started at level ~18 - 22... if you want to plan a game at the 40th level mark... you play the BG2 ToB and there you get to stump a bit bigger enemies, that could possibly actually give you a challenge.
Or you could install the EET to an BG2EE game and then go ahead and start the game at level 50/50 in Candlekeep.

The game is not scale-able... intentionally.
Yes, the self made problem disappears when you move to a game that has the HLAs as an intentionally included feature.

Thank you. That was, at least, helpful.

I figure I'll try out a few different levels, see what works for me and what I enjoy for the moment.

In any case, the thread seems to be over and done with. If there's a 'Closed' feature in this forum, you can apply it to this thread.

If only you would know.
I already gave this option:
.. and the lunab.2da. To get those out, you need the Near Infinity -tool.
It has nothing to do with the XP, but the signed level number set to the file I spoke about to the class/kit.

And nope, we don't close topics just cause the main topic is over. Or I would ever get to post a thing.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.
