Fresh Tactics Install Problems

Running into a couple of installation errors using the latest BWS from github.

 

The first that pops up is Ajoc's Minimod    

[spoilers] ERROR: BIFF [./DATA/AREA000C.BIF] cannot be loaded: Unix.Unix_error(20, "stat", "./DATA/AREA000C.BIF")

ERROR: Failure("resource [AR0042.mos] not found for 'COPY'")

AjocMod Weidu (Ajoc's Minimod) was not installed due to errors.[/spoilers] 

 

I've opened up the SETUP-AJOCMOD debug in notepad and scattered through the file are a few errors being reported with this mod. Attached both the debug plus weidu log file. 

 

Any recommendations?

 

I know there's a few more errors on their way if I try and complete this installation. I'll make note of others that pop up shortly.

Open the baldur.ini file in E:\Baldurs Gate II\ -folder and copy paste teh few lines of text under the [Alias] line.

My first suggestion would be to get a better BG2 install, see the file that's missing are supposed to be in the [game install directory]/CD2/data/area000c.bif file in normal 4+1 CD game. This is an example of my baldur.ini file:

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\Pelit\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=C:\Pelit\BGII - SoA\CD1\
CD2:=C:\Pelit\BGII - SoA\CD2\;C:\Pelit\BGII - SoA\CD2\
CD3:=C:\Pelit\BGII - SoA\CD3\
CD4:=C:\Pelit\BGII - SoA\CD4\
CD5:=C:\Pelit\BGII - SoA\CD5\

Now if the debug file is as shown, the baldur.ini kinda points to non existing folder. Why ? Cause it points to here:

HD0:=E:\Baldurs Gate II\
CD1:=E:\Baldurs Gate II\data\
CD2:=E:\Baldurs Gate II\data\
CD3:=E:\Baldurs Gate II\data\
CD4:=E:\Baldurs Gate II\data\
CD5:=E:\Baldurs Gate II\data\

And because the files in the CD folders files are in that "data" -folders, not in "CD2:=E:\Baldurs Gate II\data\DATA/" -folder, where the weidu is instructed to find them based on the baldur.ini file, the error happens.

You could try and fix this by fucking the baldur.ini even more, that won't work, cause it's not there either,

.. piip piip piip...

But a proper reinstall from a clean source would be my recommendation. This is the debug you ought to show:

Guess i should have remembered to say it's a gog install.

 

Now to find that PDF with the install, it's here somewhere but thanks for pointing me in the correct direction.

Vendedor DLAN errors. Not sure what this mod does but I'll continue.

You don't appear to have Tashia's TOB version installed. Install it first before installing this expansion pack
Tashia Add-on Pack by Bri and Lord Ernie (English only, Tashia ToB Required) -> Action Style dialogues (Tashia Remix NPC) was skipped.

You don't appear to have Tashia's TOB version installed. Install it first before installing this expansion pack

Thanks for reporting this.  I recently changed the default selection for Tashia to only install the SoA part because we discovered that the ToB part needs a patch for compatibility with other mods.

 

Your installation of Tashia should be fine, and I've now updated BWS for future installs:

 

* BGT:  added dependency rule - Tashia #2, #3 (add-on pack) needs Tashia #0 (full version, including ToB part)

on the has conflict with, is in need of part of bws. Now ACBre(-) comes up with a dependency missing, might need a translation, might need bgt or there's a typo in the BWS. Had no option of selecting this guy so I'd guess a typo somewhere?

It needs a translation. It's on my todo list to make that go away automatically. Meanwhile you can right click to ignore that warning (notice the **).

Hi.  I'm new here. First of all thanks for your efforts with all your mods and software. I have never thought baldur's gate saga could improve so much.

 

I have some questions.

First I have the same problem with DLAN vendor:

I was selecting mods in Big World Setup (one of the best programs I have seen in my life, I would like to know developers :)  and learn from them ) and due to some mod incompatibilities I wasn't able to select never ending journey big quest mod.

Is it possible to install later with the self never ending journey autoinstaller?

Could I install in the same way more items mod or should I run again twice big world setup?

Does big world setup allow integrate icewind dale 1 and 2 with baldur's gate engines? I think it's not possible and you make big world setup for each game engine.

Never Ending Journey has a lot of compatibility conflicts and isn't safe to install manually at the end.

Installing item mods at the end is usually OK. Which one in particular?

Icewind Dale merged with the BG saga is not yet available (other than the Neverending Journey mod), but modders are actively working on including IWD in the Enhanced Edition Trilogy (EET) project. You can read more about it on the Gibberlings3 forum.

Hi Imp. I have BG1EE  but not for BG2 (the first one I purchased from beamdog while the second one through gog or some other game portal...sorry for advertisement)

 

You should work with black isle and launch BG3 adding and customizing BG2 in the main game what components players want to install with rulings but not with quests (I mean, I would like to have in bg2 all possible quests including never ending journey and making compatible with all the platform but not all the rules I see I like..for instance, I choose to win 150% experience defeating monsters but I improve all AI from them and all the spellcasters even in SoA are able to access and cast HLA spells.. so I see myself reinstalling in few days :) because I'm going to die...A second rule I don't like for instance is that beholders are able to use telekinesis or mind slavers able to see invisibility while in the monsters handbook specially in the last editions they don't have that skills or a discussion long time ago in other forum about undead and golems affected by psionic powers...Those kind of rules makes the gameplay unrealistic).

I haven't checked all of the sorcerers' item mods but I believe many of the items from those mods have found their way into newer mods that are part of the BWS mod list already. In general I would not recommend installing the standalone mods as they are quite old and it is possible that some of them will overwrite stores and creature inventories and erase items added by other mods that were installed before.
