- Mages
- The Female Mage's class quest begins after the quest "An Unsanctioned Use of Magical Energy".
- The Cowled Wizard who helps you along with this class quest is the one who gave you the aforementioned quest.
- The Male Mage's class quest begins after exiting the Underdark, and can be found by talking with the Elven Mages there.
All the class quests consist of completing a number of tasks for the characters who give you the quest, and upon completion of one task, the characters will help you learn some new stuff. Each task grows more difficult, but the rewards also become better. At the end of the class quest, there is a capital reward, so I'd suggest completing it all the way through.
To activate this quest, talk to three elves out of the Underdark (in 1000.2000). If you can not activate it, try to complete the quest "More cowl tasks" that I recall, requires to possess the planar sphere.
From the description, this quest is different depending on the sex of your character. The Magi offer these three missions to male PJs:
1 / Delivery
A quest involving easy to bring an object to the dryads southeast Windspear Hills (same as those related to the pursuit of Irenicus Dungeon). Once done, return the magi to earn some extra
XP and power to choose among the following:
Storing an additional spell per level, capacity of a magic weapon, launch spells faster (version 1).
Note: I recommend you complete the quest, the dungeon of Irenicus before talking to magicians to avoid a conflict between the two quests.
2 / Evil presence
One of the three Magi asks you to locate and eliminate an evil power within Athkatla. Go to the docks in the tomb of Kangaxx (near the guild Mae 'Var). Take the western passage, which leads to two staircases. The first leads to a dungeon of modest size (AR3580). It is filled with undead low power, the best fighters skeletons and a kind of invisible hunter. This should not cause you any problems but be careful all the same traps that trigger
AoE. In the first room available, fireballs explode regularly, do not you linger. In the southern part of the dungeon, 4 passages lead to small areas without interest. To the west you will find a large room with a huge skeleton of a dragon. Kill wivernes and click on the statues to awaken the hero if you want (they will serve you for a while and then attack you). Once the area was pacified, talk to the Lord minor demon who looks like a harmless little devil. Engage the battle and you battle your team of clones (no problem) and the demon who is tough (lots of points and absorptive capacity). When it is dying, it becomes simply Demogorgon and he invokes his army of darkness. The fight is exactly the same as the Watcher's keep. If you have installed the component Improved Demogorgon Tactics another Mod or the like, this might be cotton. Put him a good beating and then return to the previous area and take the other staircase (this is optional because the demon lord was your target). You arrive in a large room with a knight demon inside. CTB, it is possible that you can not complete this quest. In this case, enter the following codes ...

... And talk to the Magi.
3 / Reforging has moonblade
The last mage gives you an artifact that you need to repair broken. To succeed, you need to get hold of persephonium (it has the same appearance as the Adamantite powder). I found two copies in the whole game, one in the camp Illithid of Watcher's Keep (AR3021, in 2050.700) and the other in the den Illithid hiding in the sewers of the Temple (AR711 in 420.350).

I have not been able to learn to use an object, the magi tell me they have systematically failed to teach me (I was that my character is dual classed Kensai / Mage, but maybe someone has more info on this?). This is not very important because the best power is by far the one that is similar to the fate Chaining. If you choose as well as those that reduce the casting time of spells, the power of your mage will be tenfold.
