I've noticed a glitch with one of the planetar's attacks in my game. Here's a picture: http://i.imgur.com/EiSzAvh.jpg

It only occurs on one attack type, and only at one particular angle. I suspect this is related to the 1ppv4 component ''Fixed animations for solars and elementals', but I could be wrong.

Anyone else encountered this?

Weidu.log's content please. Open the file with Notepad and copy paste the text to a post.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Incidentally, the same bug was present in earlier patch versions of the Enhanced Edition of BG2 as well. It might be possible to copy the fixed creature animations over from BG2:EE if you own a copy. I haven't tested it though.

Incidentally you forgot to tell that you said the file name in the link... "MASLG2S1.BAM". Erhm, in which format should the file be extracted from the BG2EE game via NI ? The Original, if so. :P

Yes, export as original. Even the Enhanced Editions can't use the new BAM format for creature animations. It's probably best to export the whole MASLxxxx.BAM and MSOLxxxx.BAM series to have consistent animation sequences.

Well, the creature animations of the Fallen Deva are almost identical. The Deva animations look differently, however.

Spoiler

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Do these files go into the override folder then? Because I just tried doing that, but the problem persists... This is on an existing save game.

The Imp's link only provides you with the Fallen Deva animation. The "blue" Deva uses the MSOLxxxx.BAM files. You can export them by yourself with Near Infinity if you own a copy of BG2:EE.

The "blue" Deva uses the MSOLxxxx.BAM files.

And those are here, now.

So in the interest of including this in the BWPFixpack, are only the MSOLxxxx.BAMs needed? Are the MASLGxxx.BAMs also fubared?

MASLxxxx.BAMs were glitched in BG2EE. I would leave them out, however, as long as nobody can confirm the same bug in 1pp.

Yup Fallen Solars have the yellow artifact in the thrust animation when facing northwest/northeast. Since the fix is essentially not installing the 1PP improved solar component, I don't think this needs to go into the fixpack :P

But if it would be somewhere, then I would place it in the BWFixpack, and make it overwrite the file in the 1PP's files before the component installs, until it gets fixed in the mod itself, which isn't actually that probable, as the v4 is supposed to be the last.

The other option is to poke K'aeloree until he relents and uses his admins privileges to upload the 1PP archive again with the fixed files. But seen as the archive still has the:

This file has been reported as broken because: The file is corrupted.

Thank you ^^

Tag, which is false by the way, it could take a few kicks to get it done.

Ok lemme put it this way :P

1PP allows you to install these options for the solar component
1. New appearance (solid object with glow)
2. As in BGII vanilla (blurry bright glow all over)

The artifacts happen in the animations being used for option "1. New Appearance"

There are 34 files being copied when that component is installed. The 2 packages the Imp has made in total contain 34 files - they are complete overwrites of the files in this component (so if you use the Imp's files, you're essentially not getting 1PP stuff)

If the fix was something like it it fixed only the file with the garbled animation, then yeah... I'll try replacing files one by one with the 1PP files until the animation seems to work

EDIT: The needed files were:

MASLG2S1.BAM
MSOLG2S1.BAM

I've added these into the BWPFixpack
