Greetings!

I am truly sorry to bother, but I have been working on getting BG setup for a long time, and it's gotten to the point that I really do need assistance. Several of the Mods that I've gotten, notably 'BPv181_4661.7z', 'bgtgraphics18.rar', BiG World Fixpack 15.7z, BiG World Installpack 15.7z, bg-bgt_worldmap-v1002.7z, and DSotSC-v217.7z (there are a few more as well, such as iepbanters and some NPCs) are all giving me errors when trying to unrar them. I get Checksum error, Unexpected End of Archive, and Archive is Corrupt (the latter two most often.) In the attached image, I give the 'list' - any there that say 'Cannot Open' give 'Archive is Corrupt' when attempting to unpack them individually. I've tried downloading the files multiple times, even different sources - no luck. Is there anything anyone can think of that might be causing this? I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64-Bit, with tons of HD space and 12 gigs of Ram. Would appreciate an assist, and again, apologize if I've put this in the wrong place. Thanks.

My bet is that it's something in your computer that's destroying the archives... or not opening them correctly.

The BWS should download the unarchiving tools during the setup... did you allow it to do that and update your existing tools ?

Is there an antivirus program on ? ... that has a habit of destroying stuff. You might wish to disable it, before it eats your mother. Joking aside, this is the usual cause of the checksum not matching cause a file was deleted from it during a download.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

If you know how to do checksums, how about them on your side?
If they fit others and they don't have issues, I'd suggest you just use 7zip to unpack those files,

Here are some md5sums:

First of all, thank you to those who posted, it is greatly appreciated. Ok, here's what I've done thus far - I have tried (of course) redownloading the files. However, I've used three different computers to do this - all are coming up with 'archive corrupt.' I opened up 7zip and attempted to open the BPv181_4611.7z. No luck. I clicked 'Calculate Checksum' and I got this: SHA-256: 092D9BAE71A42ED39A44A8299504FF87F3B356ACEC2C9DF6BB98848760922B58 (.JPG added to show.) So it certainly doesn't match with what you're showing me. I really am at a loss as to what could be wrong. Any other advice? I really do appreciate the assistance.

SHA1 <> MD5. Those use different options to create checksums...

I'd try a different browser or a download-tool. Maybe you use a proxy and it somehow has some issues.

Thanks for the reply. As I said, I've even tried three different PCs with no luck. I can try the browser thing, as well. Not utilizing any sort of proxy server atm, just plain old wired net connection to Time Warner. I don't really know what you mean by 'download tool' however.

Update: I have attempted to use Firefox (my 'usual'), Chrome, and IE - all the same thing. 'Archive Corrupt.'

I have exactly the same problem, any chance you found a solution? Everytime I try to extract the files it says "archive is corrupt" (it won't even start extracting) I tried turning off my antivirus, and downloaded with different browsers as suggested, but I can't extract any of the downloaded files...

Hey there - I wish I had found a solution. I have attempted to install the 'Big World' about 7 or 8 times now. In every case, it has been a 10-20 hour affair for all of the downloads, choosing this or that, etc. In every case the program has crashed, been corrupt, been 'missing' files, or simply just does not function at all. I had to give up for my sanity's sake. If there is anyone who can help me out - please let me know? I'd take instruction via Skype, IM, whatever. I just really want this to run. It would be the best gift ever to my best friends, who are all fanatics as I am. Thanks, and if I do figure it out Billy, I will let you know asap.

Which version of BWS do you use ?
Or do you use it at all ? etc etc.

The currently only working version is this.
