When I play a Paladin, I often want to aquirre the Big Metal Unit, without to actually resort to evil or even chaotic ways. Thus I would like to have the option to either buy or even earn the pantaloons, without to betray my character.

Here my own suggestions:
-For the Gold Pantaloons, you could make a deal to trade 5 Winter Wolf Pelts for it in the Friendly Arms Inn.

-As for the Silver Pantaloons, the Noble which owns them, is found in the goverment district after saving his lady. If you have the Gold Pantaloons with you, he will recognise you as a sort of collector and is willing to part from his pantaloons for adamantite, which he needs for a new set of ornaments for his home decoration.

What suggestions do you have?
We can go beyound the Pantaloons and include other items, we want to get without stealing or killing neutral and good guys.^^

Easy install Tales Of Anegh mod and you get legally Gold and Silver Pantaloons.

Most of the things in that mod are stuff that I personally don't want (i.e. +5 long sword usable by mages, granting grandmastery; and a +12 Hackmaster). The thread and the readme mentions nothing about how you can acquire the pantaloons - with the exception of "gold pantaloons now droppable".

 

So unless the pantaloons is a separate component, it's not really up to par with that the OP want. Which, incidentally, I think would make for a nice component.

Well, I would like to know where you obtain the pantaloons in this particular mod, otherwise we all could work together on this particular mod idea of mine.

I am even willing to write the dialoge between the nobles and Char Aznable... ehm <CHARNAME>.
You may give me some help to spice the dialog up or continue where I left off.
Let us start with the Silver Pantaloons, but since I am tired right now, I will do only the start now.

After you release Missing Citizens at Anegh talk to Piri at Tent (ZZELT4, x 250 y 265)..

Do his quest and you get Golden Pantaloons.

Then talk to Picard at Cave (ZCAVE2, x 670 y 865) at North Mountains.

Do his quest and you get Silver Pantaloons.

Well obviously i know everything.

About past 10 years 95% of my gametime i have played these games (first BG1 + Easytutu and BG2 then BWP with BGT) and i written BWP walkthrough while playing. So i look at there, simple.

Now I took a closer look on Lady Elgea and her husband Welther.
Apparently to the game Welther is Neutral Evil, which rather makes him act by my dialog out of character.
I will try then the Tales of Anegh mod.
