I feel ... silly. After reading the readmes and mod descriptions I am still a bit puzzled. Do these two mods work together or are they two distinct projects? If they are two entirely different things, which is preferred/recommended? I don't use a lot of mods - BGT, BG1NPCs and Xan for BG2 so I am unconcerned for any possible conflicts. Help is much appreciated!

The Longer Road is your choice. 
It's a huge expansion of Redemption, and it adds Irenicus as an NPC! I liked it(though reading the readme is recommended).
