Hi colonel klinck:
All I can tell you is how I loaded my mega mod game.
1) Downloaded all the mods I wanted in my game.
2) Extracted the mods until I got to setup-xxxxx.tp2, setup-xxxxx.exe and a folder named xxxxx. Sometimes, depending on how the mod was written, you do not get the setup-xxxxx.tp2 file. Also some mods change the folder name. ALSO, you may need to open several layers to get to these files. Much of this information is in the BiG World Project.pdf file.
3) Copy the extracted files to a new folder. It helps when transfering mods to the ...BGII -
SoA folder or when re-installing the game.
4) I could not understand
BWP v14.2. I reverted to
BWP v14.1.2. I edited BiG World Install.bat so the the mods and components would be installed in the same order as listed in BiG World Project v14.2 English.pdf. I also edited the components of the mods so that only the components I wanted were installed.
5) You need BiG World Fixpack, BiG Installpack, BiG World Textpack English (or your language), and BiG World Trimpack. I used the latest versions that match with BiG world Install.bat v14.1.2.
6) For newer mods that are not listed in BiG world Install.bat v14.1.2 you need to add some lines to files. An example is the mod Multistronghold. Add the line "multistronghold=MULTISTRONGHOLD" (without the quotes) to ...BiG World Installpack\list.txt. Add the line "multistronghold=En-0" (without the quotes) to ...BiG World Installpack\TRA.txt.
7) Be careful which version of
WeiDU.exe you use. I used v236.00 (23600). One mod had problems with this because it was written for v236.02 (23602). Therefore, I need to use an older version of the mod.
It took me about eight days to get this all together. But it did install the first time without any errors. I am midway through Baldur's Gate. I have had crashes, but non of the crashes occurred again on reloading the game from the last saved position. There are some bugs that are annoying, but these do not interfere with the game.
Attached is my
WeiDU.log file showing the mods I installed.
Tom
Keep a spare copy of the BGII -
SoA file language.txt. This file gets removed by the cleanup procedure and is needed for BGConfig.exe.
