Hey, this sub-forum doesn't look like it's very active, but I thought I'd go ahead and post this in case anyone happens to read it.

I'm playing a mega-mod game, I have Iylos in my party, and we've just killed Gromnir. Iylos starts a banter, which begins with "Watch yourself, CHARNAME. I don't trust you...etc."

When I select responses, I get some REALLY weird replies and my responses are weird too. Some of them come from an earlier talk I already had from him, except the roles are reversed (I'm replying like he did, he's answering with things I said...) They look like things that belong in a different discussion, almost like it's referencing the completely wrong dlg file or something. BUT, I have never edited my dialog.tlk, and I have never had a similar problem over the course of BG1, SoA, or anything else so far in ToB, so I really doubt things are out of order that badly or I would be seeing this same issue all over the place.

Is this a known bug, is there something I can do to fix it without editing dialog.tlk, and does this banter really have any future repercussions depending on how I reply to it? I can't really tell what's going on, because my replies don't make any sense once I get past the first part of the talk, and neither do his answers. Sometimes he uses lines of dialog that sound like things *I* should be saying to other people. So if this banter is going to make him think I'm a murdering psycho or something, I'd probably want to fix it. If it doesn't really matter, I guess I can live with a garbled schizophrenic word-salad talk after Gromnir, so long as all his other talks don't turn out like this...

I really thought he was an interesting character so far, even though I've only had him about an hour or so. I hope I can keep him without having no friggin clue what he's saying or what I'm saying...

Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

I have still never got an answer to this question, sadly I have had to completely ignore Iylos in all of my games. If anyone has any ideas, don't hesitate to post because of the date! I do actually check all these old threads I make on occasion!

SHAMEFUL DOUBLE POST - The image in the OP was no longer working for me, figured I'd re-upload so you can tell what I'm talking about.

I have the same problem.

I understand there is a problem in his lines when he says: "I shall become the lady of murder"... unless I'm the female charname, not he.

I cannot find a line where he says "I shall become the <PRO_LADYLORD> of murder". I do see this, though (lk#iylj.tra, lk#iylj_extended.tra):

I, at least, am not proud of being a <PRO_SONDAUGHTER> of Murder, like you who revels in the slaughter.

I think something in this line is missing. Iylos is saying it and for the extended content, it's enabling a PID where the PC can tell him that he/she is not proud of being a Bhaalspawn. So, I guess he is supposed to talk about the PC and would suggest the following:

I, at least, would not be proud of being a <PRO_SONDAUGHTER> of Murder, like you who revels in the slaughter.

I'll edit the line accordingly until Kaeloree steps in and tells us what the line was supposed to mean or someone else has a better idea.

And I found a reason for a possible text mixup as reported from OP - the extended .d-file is using the lines of the shorter tra-file meant for the short d-file, but I don't see yet why this would happen. Unless the UNLESS syntax works differently than expected. Anyway, this line-mixup will be fixed in the next version. EDIT: fixed for v2.6!
