Nathaniel Romance

So i don't know if i broke the romance but i'm at the part where you visit's Nate's friend in waterdeep. so i went and visited him learned about nates history a bit got the "i have to get back to duty" from his friend and all that...but then i did a quest and at the end he said " i don't want to complain but we should go visit his friend in waterdeep it has to be important". I went back to waterdeep thinking...crap i messed up and there was more...but now his friend has nothing to say to me. wasn't sure if i broke it so i advanced time a bit and then tried sleeping and nothing happens. however i have more things on my menu NOW when i use the chat icon with him then i did before. so i'm not sure...did i fubar this up or is it still in the works??
