i get no PROFICIENCIES when making a character even when i lvl up is this normal or something got messed up?
starting game from BGT on first baldurs gate.
PROFICIENCIES PLZ HALP!

You didn't read the response you got ? Do you have the Igi's Learn by Use (proficiency) mod ? Where the character gain's proffs only by hitting enemies with the said weapons, it removes the start proffs.

Well, in a BWP/BWS game, not really... but you can make a reinstall of everything and just choose to not include that.

The mod is placed pretty much at the end of the install, so I guess you could uninstall it if you did not use the cleanup tool to save space or removed the mods folders youself. And you could end up with some unusable savegames. Depends on your games setup. If you want to try, I'd make a backup of the bg2-game-folder, run setup-iiLearnThroughuse.exe and uninstall the mod.
