Will investigate with a pure ToBEx, BG2Fixpack, BGT, BGTMusic install within the week :cheers:

Hey I encountered this same problem but with your fix it seems to give the correct music only when I choose the Full Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast option. Obviously I don't know the music but it seems appropriate to have adventure/exploration music playing when at the gnoll fortress and bandit camp, rather than the cheery piping tavern songs. The combat music seems to come on correctly and fade away correctly as well.

 

Using the full Baldur's Gate/Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhall option still has tavern music playing at inappropriate areas.

Did a small experiment using WeiDU 23600:

 

1) Installed ToBEx, BG2Fixpack and BGT

2) Launched game and CLUAConsole:MoveToArea('AR4100') - Gnoll Stronghold

 

Got no music... just ambient wind sounds :P

 

3) Installed BGTMusic (the original one not my patch) and moved to AR4100

 

Got funky medieval tavern music - boo yeah! Bug replicated! :D

 

4) Uninstalled BGTMusic, got my modified TP2 from this post and renamed it to setup-bgtmusic.tp2 (this is done by BGT during its install procedure if the music.tp2 is in its bgt/songlist folder)

5) Installed BGTMusic (this time its the patch) and moved to AR4100

 

Got fort music now :unsure: This is the Full Baldur's Gate/Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal Music option btw so I'm stumped why some of you are not getting the right music.

Nope, I've tried it exactly as you said and I still get the tavern music on the gnoll and bandit maps. Like I said though, as long as you pick the just BG1 option the music will work fine. Except there's no music on the very first Candlekeep map but tbh I don't remember if there ever was. Candlekeep in Chapter 6 has the right music though.

And you updated the WeiDU .exe of setup-bgtmusic to v236 before installing it? You can check this in .DEBUG file - it should say "WeiDU v 23600 Log" at the top.

Sorry for the semi-necropost here but do we have confirmation of Lollorian's alternate music.tp2 file to fix the BGT music?

I just tested it in my Megamod, and music plays OK. I think that it uses patch from BiG World Fixpack.

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Some of theese functions looks awsome :D And i would love to see how he do the this, as I need it in my mod:

It's  either the G3 BG2Fixpack. And it's already in the BG2EE, well mostly. Including the "bad fixes" -not my words. :devil:

Or the BiG World Fixpack, but it's also a bit difficult to use as you apply it on extracted mods that you/auto-install-tool installs in BiG World -installs.

Son of a... I wish I'd seen this thread before (or BGT had updated with the new music.tp2)... I'm experiencing the same bug (tavern music in gnoll fortress and other wrong songs in various areas). I don't suppose there's a fix for a game that's already under way; this isn't a minor bug to me, as the music sets the tone for a lot of the feel of the gameplay. It may not be a game stopper but it's pretty significant imo.
