Alright...the actual animation doing this is spmagglo.bam

How do I delete it? Or kill every every trigger (to put it in terms I'd understand).

Strangely enough, when I set to search for references it comes up blank...at least for effects, spells, creatures and items. So right now I'm looking for all the references and it came up with deathward.vvc and spmagglo.vvc...and deathward has no hits, spmagglo a lot of them...

But none that are what I'm looking for, at least I think.

Spoiler

The only thing that occurs to me is that the game in an overzealous attempt to burden my CPU misconstrued Imoens (and several other creatures') mindshield as the spell Immunity: Divination...

Ahhh, why is this so difficult. Well, at least I get a higher appreciation for modders out of this.

Well you overwrite the existing (make a backup before) if the override folder has one. If it's not there, then just place a new one there.... so you take this 1 pixel animation .bam, extract it to a folder, rename it as "spmagglo.bam" and put it to the override folder, and hope the game won't crash.

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Here's to hoping it won't crash...and it didn't. In fact, it worked pretty much as intended.

Nice.

Thanks a lot. Not a perfect solution, as it would make sense for some spells I guess, but it's a definite improvement over before.

This has fixed the graphics bug, but there's still a sound effect attributed to anyone with the 'mind shield' effect. I'd like to try removing this sound effect too as it takes away from many environmental sounds and the music of the game.

Ah.. which turned out to be easy enough to fix  (even for me) .. set the duration sound to "None"  in near infinity... yay!

You know, I had a similar effect, except my spiders don't do nets. The Cloakwood traps and the web spell however didn't work. So I extracted it and ran change log spwi215 and replaced it with an earlier version. That solved most of my issues. Not the traps, but at least the wizard spell...

Can you elaborate? What, exactly, did you change the sound duration on? An eff? The actual WAV sound? The BAM itself doesn't have the option.

Although I at least managed to get rid of the swirly effect, which I realize is the one on the central ball of Planar Sphere, so thanks a lot for that everyone!

I would guess that he edited the spell file, open/edit the sounds Spell Ability and then open/edit the Effect, it has the duration... but you could just remove the whole Sound effect with DLTCEP too.

I found out what causes this, I think. Spellpack's component(s) of Charm Person or Mammal and (possibly) Spook. In conjuction with Ao-himself-knows what else, maybe nothing actually. If you don't install these 2 (or maybe just Charm Person or Mammal) "eternal effect" should not be there, regardless of other mods. These apperantly patch exisiting items/spells and for some crazy reason Spell Immunity effect displays whenever a creature has an item equiped (ring95 for Ghouls, example) or is under the effect of a spell with permanent timing (maybe it doesn't need to be permanent, but I haven't checked if Chaotic Commands would play SI animation).

Lollorian might look into this and know better.

It's likely that Galactygon just unintentionally reset the animations to be viewable to the items that were not supposed to have it.

I would remember the BG2Tweak pack having had a component that hide all the constant effects from items, but I fail to find it now. Ah well...

Ok, I think I know what's the cause of this crap animations permanently playing. Spellpack on purpose blacks out spmagglo.vvc, since it uses the opcode which automatically displays that particular animation fairly often (disease immunity, charm immunity etc.). Due to BWS install (1PP after Spellpack, which is wrong by many ways anyhow) 1PP overwrites the Spellpack-nulled spmagglo.vvc with it's own animation (swirling globes).

Fast fix  for anyone still having problems with this:

- go to 1PP backup folder in whatever directory BG is installed

- search for spmagglo.bam and spmagglo.vvc

- copy both into Override folder

For more info, read here. And be warned, Spell Immunity won't display the animation as well anymore. There is a way to somewhat "nullify" it by having it play a different animation instead of the globe, but I wouldn't go there.
