I must have missed something in my setup so I keep getting this error...

http://250kb.de/u/13...KGpOMEqATCz.jpg

And I tried googling it with little success. Quite frankly, I have absolutely no clue as to what I did wrong. I never had any problems installing the BiG Install, but now these just keep spamming. Anyone else ever encountered this issue?

Same problem here, my BWS automatically downloaded the new FIxpack and now the install crashes after the extraction, respectively beginning of the install. If I exit and restart the BWS I can continue with the installation but I am pretty sure that something important has been skipped.

here is the error

Have you tried this solution?

The Old Gold - v0.2 WIP (mod for BGT/BWP/BWS)

Strangely enough, that worked. So thank you for that. Guess I'll go read a book now. What a weird bug though.

It seems like that it fixed my problem as well. During the installation I sometimes had to press a key (without any other message available) for continuing the installation though. Is this normal?

I did too, it told me some mod or component not installed due to errors. findstr or something like that.

I'm more concerned that it didn't install Tortured Souls though, I guess I'll go read up on the incompabilities of that mod...

Here's my mod selection btw.

Oh, also none of 1pp.

Btw, where can I look up the install log?

Wait...could it be because I moved the setup-ts.debug file into the SoA folder?

Man, kinda sucks redoing the whole thing on account of such a silly oversight on my part. But I guess it beats doing one of those 15 hour manual installations like in 2005...

I'm glad the the solution I sort of figured out is helping people.  However, that will only fix the patch.exe problem.

With that fix, I was able to make BWS work just fine, using the "Recommended" installation, after disabling these three mods:

1 "Finch" (NPC companion for BG1)

2 "Rogue Rebalancing" component: PnP thievery potions

3 "Lolfixer" component: MAJESTIC Spell Fixer

However, if you want to use the "Standard" or "Tactical" versions (which have a lot more mods enabled), then you will likely run into problems installing some of those mods.

Edit: Also, if you are using the "Recommended" installation and you are installing in English, I would really recommend NOT installing any of the "Ascalons" mods (Ascalons Breagar, Ascalons Questpack) as they have German audio with awful English text translation - it is so bad that I couldn't really even understand what was happening.  Very immersion-breaking.

Beware: If you are installing with the "Standard" or "Tactical" versions, there are numerous non-English mods being installed, listed at the end of the Big World Project pdf instructions.

I was able to install Finch. Strange.

The lolfixer MAJESTIC Spell fixer gave me an error as well, but after trying to install this component again (retry "r" in the BWS installation) there was no error message and the biffing began (so it seems like that it actually worked)

Ok :P

patch.exe errors are because github wants line endings to be in LF format (Unix) while I (and patch.exe) work on Windows (which uses CLRF liune endings). I've normalized the github repository to use CLRFs so the problem should be gone :)

Also, Leonardo has updated the BWPFixpack to 13.0.5 which uses CLRF line endings :D

Lolfixer's spell fixer errors are because of a newly discovered bug in WeiDU that Wisp has fixed in v23201. Incidentally, Leonardo has released BWP Installpack 13.0.4 which ships with the beta WeiDU 23201 ;)

TL;DR - USE THE LATEST SHIT!!!

How do I make the BWS use the 13.0.5 version? It only wants to download the 13.0.4 version

Well basically...

"this solution" presented in the link above, except with getting your files from Big World Fixpack 13.05

I on the other hand am receiving some very weird error about baldur not echoing or something...maybe it's because I got the fixpack from here...

http://baldurs-gate....oads.php?cat=10

And I guess it's just titled wrong, but downloading the installpack 13.05 gives you the fixpack...

Anyway, I guess I'll put this on ice till the next version. Strangely enough, when I uninstalled Baldur's Gate ToB it messed with my BG1 files too...I really should have stuck with the restoration method that's pinned in the threads here...
