Also, another question:- if I installed all major compatible megamods and most of the compatible smaller adventure mods as well, how much xp would my party gain in all, roughly? It is just that I plan on having all my 6 party members be fighter/wild mage/ thieves or fighter/wild mage/clerics, using the savegame editor to achieve this and other changes, so I want to know how many levels these 6 triple-classed characters  could get by the end of the game if they did every possible extra adventure mod as well as the usual game.

In my games I have found there is more than enough XP to go around. I can use most of the NPCs and switch them out as I see fit and still be high enough level to complete quests.

I just got a Tome of the Grand Wizard, from DSotSC. It doubles XP for a single class mage. If your multiclass units have Use Any Item, they will be able to double XP. I plan to use it on my PC F/T/M in the distant future once UAI is acquired. With Level 1 NPCs, any NPC added to party automatically has its XP altered to match the PC.

 

I used Level 1 NPCs to alter Minsc, Jaheira, Imoen, Viconia and Edwin into multiclasses (only my PC is triple-class, though). Their levels will shoot up as soon as i re-recruit them.

 

This ridiculously cheesy trick aside, i believe it's quite easy to reach max level with all the modded content added, even with multiclass units. There's probably tons of maps there with high-XP respawns where you can grind, too. So don't worry about XP.

I am absolutely appalled!  Several years ago, I planned on installing all the various megamods via the big world project but failed due to having to go abroad etc. Now I cannot seem to find  the previous set-up whereby I could just download a huge set of files in one and just pick and choose from a menu which mods I wanted installed with easy explanations as to which mods were easily compatible  with almost all mods and which mods were not compatible with which others etc. Now it seems that I have to arbitrarily choose specific mods and carefully exclude the non-english mods and still get tons of bugs. Damn!

Heh, you did not see the BWS update, did you. Yes, that's the Setup process/program you describe.

 

PS: Shouldn't you be able to best answer the question you gave as you tried to play the game as was with the XP and all...
