Feature Request: Make the BWS check the bitbuckt repo on every startup and automatically update itself (after asking the user) with the latest version - possibly restarting to load all the new files ;)

I agree this is practically essential.  Also beyond my skills at the moment.

I know this was once an inbuilt feature in the BWS - dabus and me used to play around with it back then :P (good times) I dunno why it was removed... :(

Had a few questions I was hoping someone(s) could answer.

1) So I wanted to install the Animal Companions mod for my Druids and Rangers on my mega-mod install, but it seems to have some issues preventing me from doing so. And I was thinking about using the Haiass el Lobo mod as an alternative (come to think of it: are those two mods even compatible should someone install both?)

But anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any opinions to offer on Haiass. Is it a decent mod? And I'm asking just because of the "el Lobo" part, but is the English translation okay?

2) Are the NPC Strongholds and the Homeward Bound mods compatible with each other?

3) This is a very, very, minor gripe. But I noticed in the Thalantyr Item Upgrade mod that in the line "Can you  make magic items or alter them?" there is a double space between "you" and "make" that irks my OCD every time I see it, lol. Is there a way for me to correct any similar typos I come across? (In any dialogue, not just Thalantyr specifically)

1) Haiass works fine in English.  We typically don't rename mods in BWS in recognition of our international modding community.  Haiass adds a creature that is scripted to follow the party.  It doesn't conflict with any other mods that add creatures, and in particularly it has no conflicts with Animal Companions.  I've had some problems with Haiass but I don't remember what they were exactly and they weren't gamebreaking.

2) Should be no conflicts.  NPC Strongholds does something quite different from Homeward Bound.

3) That typo bugs me too.  You can edit the .tra file in the thalan folder to fix it locally (has to be done before installing the mod).

More updates:
* Added conflict (BWP/BGT/BG2EE):  Ascension has an integrated form of UB Restored Bhaalspawn Powers
* Added conflict: gMinion not compatible with SCS/BP AI
* Added dependency: BP needs Resource Fixer
* Added TDD and RoT to Grandmastery conflicts rule
* Added conflict warning between refinements HLAs and Divine Remix HLAs
* Added sword_and_fist(1) to Monk HLAs conflict rule
* Added Cleric Remix conflicts with Turambar priest kits

* Replaced Yikari(3)/BP(1250) conflict with dependency
* Disabled conflict rule between Shadow Thief Improvements and NPC/Summons Set Off Traps (BWP 15.5 indicates these can be combined with appropriate installation order)
* Eliminated duplicate conflict rule for Improved Crypt King tactical encounter

* Clarified various other conflicts rule descriptions
* Clarified LadeJarl's TutuGUI mod description
* Clarified Blackguard Fighter Kit component 1 description (portraits are optional)
* Updated Might and Guile from 1.4.2 to 1.5.1 (no component changes)

BWP/BGT Select.txt:
* Re-categorized TheUndying component 1 (Harder Enemies) as AI because it modifies creature scripts, not only stats (per BWP 15.5)
* Removed Animal Companions subcomponent 3 option 2 (re-enter name) as it is useless for automated install
* Disabled gMinion by default in all pre-selections because it conflicts with SCS and BP AI unless installed after them, and gMinion currently is installed before SR (which is installed before SCS and BP)

Can someone help me with debugging a failed install. I'm trying a fairly extensive install - maximising content including tactical, but no expert marked mods. It's failed twice now during SCS Better General AI with the following error:

ERROR: [CLABRN04.2DA] -> [stratagems_external/workspace/CLABRN04.2DA] Patching Failed (COPY) (Failure("resource [SPCL625.spl] not found for 'COPY'"))
ERROR: Failure("resource [SPCL625.spl] not found for 'COPY'")
Smarter general AI (Sword Coast Stratagems) was not installed due to errors.

My understanding here is that it's trying to parse the content but cannot find SPCL625.spl so fails. My problem is that I cannot work out what the source of SPCL625.spl is - the first time I thought for some reason it was Divine Remix but completely removing that did not help. How can I find what mod this comes from to fix the install, or does anyone know a quick fix?

Strange - in my recent install just a few days back there is no SPCL625,spl at all

BUT

STRATAGEMS/SETUP-STRATAGEMS.TP2~ #0 #6000 // Smarter general AI: v30 is installed without error

Also SPCL625 does not exist in the unmodded game AND CLABRN04.2DA does not contain spcl625 in my install.

That erroring comes from a mod that adds a non existing resource reference to the clabn04.2da file.
Aka it's broken by default. Your best bet is to --change-log the "clabrn04.2da" -file and see if there's actual mods that change it, if there is, look a backup file that doesn't contain the SPCL625.spl reference. If you can't find one... or the --change-log gives nothing, then open the kitlist.2da file, find what kit uses the clabrn04.2da file, and remove that kit fom your install. And make sure to report this stupidity in the mods own forum, yes, even if it's mine, you have to report in in the kit mods own forum. They shall fix it if they want, you can only use after... or you can remove the entry from the clab--- file, but then you'll be using a modified mod.

Again, the error is due to failure in the other mod.

First it tells me that I don't have it in my Downloads folder, when I do.

It then redownloads it (I SAW it download).

Then it tells me that it could not be downloaded? What tomfoolery is this??

Anyway, here's my BiG World Download Debug:

EDIT: Just reattempted and it had no trouble this time. My BWS has a mind of its own! I am subject to its whims!

The end-bite by bite comparison didn't match or the download source didn't give the file size. Sometimes it's just better to use the Provide option.

Thank you. I assumed it was the other mod since I've installed SCS many times before without this issue. In vanilla BG2, CLABRN04 is for the Beastmaster, so presumably it could be any one of a number of tweak mods. I'll look into it as you suggest and see what happens.

If you still have your BiG World Setup\Logs\BiG World Extract Debug.txt (it might have been moved to a Bak-???date??? folder if you did another install since then), please upload that too.  The error here was a missing tisunpack.exe file that is part of the TSv704 package, so either your extraction failed or you have some antivirus software that quarantined the exe.

The error says it all - TS tried to find a tisunpack.exe but couldn't find one ;) (the mod package is fine, so something deleted it after it was extracted)

If my recolection is correct, there's no need for the tisunpack.exe as the weidu.exe can do all the stuff that it did earlier, better.
Yes, that's why the weidu.exe is so fat.
