Hello again,

 

I got the same error with UB1 - and I am at least content, I am not zhe only one ;-)

 

But now: Ignoring the fact, that UB1 is missing I started a new game for testing

 

Result:

Some Kit Descriptions are missing -

Some Spell descriptons also

and the worst: some dialog options are missing too

The game ends when meeting sandrah and I got no options at all! -> unplayable

 

Question:

Is this a follow-up from the UB1-Problem ?

or is there an error in the last fixpack ?

or ???

(I dont expect that it is an issue with Sandrah...)

Hi Alien.

 

Just letting you know that, as per latest BWP Fixpack, the components of the Area Patcher are no longer needed.

I will work to an Alpha5 release supporting NeJ 2 pre-691 as some fixes are needed.

I meant you can safely remove all components of the Area Patcher.

To be even clearer :)

 

Components #1000 & #2000 are only needed in non-v691+v694 installations of NeJ (v42, v602, v68)

 

Component #3000 is only needed for NeJ v68 (since the BWPFixpack handles it for v691+694)

 

Component #4000 is totally handled by the BWPFixpack

 

Component #0 is only needed if any of the above components are being installed :P

 

EDIT: Btw, is anyone else having trouble downloading the SandrahRtF master from github? (the 525MB non-resumeable download is getting to me... and it won't even download at full speed! It always seems to cap at 50kBps)

To be even clearer :)

 

Components #1000 & #2000 are only needed in non-v691+v694 installations of NeJ (v42, v602, v68)

I just downloaded SandrahRtF without problem. It took a bit longer than usual today at ~160kbps

I just downloaded SandrahRtF without problem. It took a bit longer than usual today at ~160kbps
Well the direct download link in the mods page(look up on Roxanne's signatures link), gave me a 1.9MBps, making it about 4 minute download. ... :P

But now it simply wont work anymore

Just a thought: At the moment it seems that SCS is still a beta mod version with a lot of bugs. I encounter them at every turn in a large installation. It is probably not a good idea to install two large beta mods (SCS and Sandrah) at the same time unless you want to spend a lot of time finding, correcting and reporting issues.

Otherwise I do not think Sandrah has anything to do with the reported problem if you selected the latest version from the github link..

Hello BWS Peeps! Some queries :P

 

1) I'm trying to create a mod selection (I call it Lol's Lollipops for now :ermm:)

 

But can someone update these dependancies please? They aren't needed with the most recent BWPFixpack as mentioned in this post

2) When I do a "Save selection" where is the selection actually saved? (the filename would be great :P)

 

3) How do I make Lol's Lollipops show up in the dropdown with kreso's & micbaldur's selections :P

 

4) On a related note, do you guys accept mod selections? :D

Because from my (I admit very small) testing it seems to work. And the game needs at least one good party AI mod. Also macholys party ai mod is already included in the bws but it is not very functional. It often gives errors on install and it's "activate" hotkey is the same as many mod npcs string fixer hotkey. eSeries could replace this or at least be allowed to be installed instead of it. I install it before atweaks as suggested here in another thread.

 

2. Adrians fanmade soundset - http://www.shsforums...soundset-enjoy/

 

It's just files you drop in the override. If this isn't done he is completely silent.

 

3. Alternate Xan Soundset for BG2 - http://www.pocketpla...d=131&Itemid=91

 

Because the bws already makes available the mod that changes Xans original BG1 voice to the custom voice from the mod in BG2 for consistency. But it should also be available the other way around imo. And that is what this mod does. It changes the custom voice of the BG2 Xan (mod) into the original BG1 voice. This deletes all of his custom voiced dialogue, so he will have "only" text but at least he will have the awesome soundset from the first game. I think this choice must be available.

I am not the BW maintainer, but this is what I would say about this:

a) You are a guest in the forum with a one step validation of authenticity ... No one will be able to edit the post... except the forum moderators.

b) The SCS has a party AI as does the aVENGERs mods, and they work well with each others and most of the mods, due to using the Detectable Spells AI charter, with is tested in every BW install out there, and it only mostly had problems if you installed both the SCS & BP's AI enhancements in the past, including reports of making the Liches turning to melee attacking ... but most of all, the player should be playing the game with the use of space and giving orders to the player characters, not watching their monitor and pondering if the porn had downloaded itself already, cause watching the goblins 15th time trying to out compute the player AI in a running match with the characters equipped with boots of speed and range attacks weapons gets dull.

The hotkey things, the only thing I can say is that's already like a 100 times more than the available space in the game, so testing it needs to be really thorough, and consolidated into known partners that can handle code editing and alterations. It would be best to actually start from a clean slate. Or with script blocks from all the others mods, combined into a rational combination of things. AKA, make all the NPC fix keys the same one, with a multi step install that covers one NPC at each state of install... as you can compile the scripts in multiple stages and according to what mods have been installed.

I call bullshit. Using space and manually clicking yet another #1427th goblin archer falls far better under definition of dull. And watching how proficiently your party, who you've carefully trained up and geared up, slices these goblins on their own accord is not a small joy in itself, superseded only by the ultimate joy of watching them doing so under the script you've made yourself. Not to mention that if anyone know how the player should be playing the game it's developers, who happened to provide not only ingame means to let party fight via scripts, but also provided compiler for players to write better scripts. Coincidence? I think not.

The goblins are not the issue, a "blind" attack script can utilize archery weapons. Example: The unmodified "attack.bcs" ...

This is: Should the player characters also know the stats of every opponent they face and cast spells with prerequisites... say cast ice storms to enemies who have no immunity cold or magic, cast fireball on non fireball immune enemies ... etc etc etc ? I call that bullshit.

The enemy can do so to it's limited potential, if they have the spells etc scripting that is allowed to kinda cheat, but should the player chars too do it ? And then ask where's the 4th wall. It's there, when the player knows that he has to change the standard tactic(auto attack a visible enemy), pushes the pause and uses and targets the spells himself... not when the computer does it for him. That's the line.

Well whatever you guys call bullshit on is not relevant. I call bullshit on plenty of mods in the BWS but I choose not to install them. That's what customization is for, no?

 

The fact is that if it is technicaly possible, it should be in there.

Seems like I messed up the component order - the JA#AdvPack dependant component can stay... although both of Jarl's mods should be made expert until someone fixes up the code. There was a related thread some days back.

Fresh install of the original BG/TOSC/SOA/TOB game on a dedicated 50GB partition, selected english, standard and then clicked the customize mods button. when it went to build the list, the error popped up.  trying tactics or any other selection in the drop down did that same thing
