What version of BWS you use?

15.3

Er... it's version of the BWP (BiG World Project), not BWS (BiG World Setup). Do you use any programs to install mods or you install them manually? If you install manually or using BW Installpack, then you need to download the unofficial but most up-to-date version of the BW Fixpack, because only it has a fix for latest TeamBG BG2EE Armor Pack. BWS does this automatically.

cmorgan, thanks, link updated by Lollorian.

Err, woops, sorry.  I'm not sure which version I'm using, but the most recent changelog is July 27 by Tzarnal. I downloaded it about a week or so ago.

To explain, I use BWS to install the mods and have the most up-to-date version of the Fixpack and the ENG pack as well.

E: I also am getting an error message now with this,

The mod was not found.
The following mods cannot be installed because of missing dependence:

Never Ending Journey 2 Patch v6.94

Never Ending Journey 2 v6.91:
0000: Never Ending Journey Second Edition

Shadows over Soubar:
0000: Shadows Over Soubar

I do have all three mods/patches downloaded (NEJ2 694, NEJ2 691 and SoS.) Clearly I've screwed something up here.

The last date of the changes look in Changelog-Mods.txt.

Something strange, NEJ and SoS no way connected. I'll see this evening.

I downloaded the latest version of BWS (as was linked above a few posts prior) and that seemed to have resolved the NEJ issue, but SoS is still reporting as being uninstalled in an Expert installation, with a couple of mods not installed (Imoen Romance, Full Plate and Packing Steel, New Travel Method For Baldur's Gate, a couple of familiar mod packs, a druid kit mod and a couple of NPC mods.

The Soubar mod itself has been extracted and is sitting in my BG2 folder, and no error messages popped up when I tried to install it. I'll finish my installation and see if it was a false positive...I had that happen with a version of BWP I did like 3 years ago and everything ran fine for me.

E: It appears that Shadows Over Soubar was installed, despite saying that it WASN'T installed, but Never Ending Journey hasn't...yet BWS didn't say that it wasn't installed. I tried starting a new game and NPC scripts don't appear to be working ...the scripted battle cutscene you get with Sarevok results in nothing happening.

I have no idea what is going on here.  Please let me know if there's any logs or files or anything you need.

As far as I could understand, the BWS has reported that failed to install Area Patcher because of had not installed NEJ or SoS?

Now this problem is solved. Download the new BWS (last night updated) and try to install again.

Hi Quiet.

The Area Patcher will fail to install each component if its requirements are not met.

So, if you try to install the fix for Jarls BGT Adventure Pack, it will fail if you did not install Jarls BGT Adventure Pack Mod.

Same for the Shadows over Soubar and Never Ending Journey.

Problem with IWD:EE NPC mod alternative class selection: you can't choose any of the new kits introduced by EE. For example there should be an option to make Korin an archer.

@Nightfarer & Vaerk: My bet is that mentioning the associated component numbers and names might be helpful, so Quiet wouldn't need to go and search for them.

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

@The Imp

Quiet already knows the numbers (I guess).

Anyway they are: 0 (required for the other components), 1000 (Never Ending Journey), 3000 (Jarls BGT Adventure Pack), 4000 (Shadows over Soubar).

Requirements:

Component 0: BGT

Component 1000: Component 0 and Never Ending Journey (6.8 or 6.91/6.94)

Component 3000: Component 0 and Jarls BGT Adventure Pack (1.61)

Component 4000: Component 0 and Shadows over Soubar (1.13)

I'm in the middle of yet another installation using the most updated version of BWSetup and the BG2 Team EE Armor Pack error message is popping up again,

2) BG2 Team EE Armor Pack gives me an error message,

"ERROR: error loading [BG2eeAR/sto/cmtb2ees1.sto]
ERROR: Unix.Unix_error(20, "stat", "BG2eeAR/sto/cmtb2ees1.sto")"

Googling solutions led to a forum post from the author with a fix...that's already been implemented in the mod I had downloaded (specifically the "change the cmtbees1 to cmtb2ees1" bit.)

There's something wrong with that fix. Note that cmtb2ees1 is 9 characters while BG2 can only work with 8 character filenames  I'll have a look in the weekend if someone else doesn't find a proper fix.

But until then just ignore the error :) You can install thr mod later once we have it fixed up

Finished the other installation, and things seem broken.

NEJ seems to have installed okay and I didn't get any error messages.

I start a game and everything seems fine up to a point.

Starting a completely fresh BG2 game, I get all the appropriate cutscenes that I should be getting. But as soon as the Soothsayer NPC appears for the Silverymoon mod, the dialogue box is just a big black box. I don't see any dialogue options, although if I press 1 (or 2 or whatever) I can proceed through dialogue no problem.

If I import a character, I get the same issue, only the Soothsayer NPC doesn't appear at all. One of the cutscenes (that flashes back to a Sarevok fight) actually allows me to get control of my character and displays the menus. Once I get back to Irenicus' Dungeon, Imoen becomes unselectable and starts repeatedly gaining 50000 quest experience. The broken dialogue box also happens, but this time when encountering Silver Star for the first time. Strangely, Worgas and his dialogue worked just fine. Shar Teel is also not where she is supposed to be with NEJ2 installed.

I don't know if this is useful to anyone working on this stuff, but I'm pretty much prepared to give up on trying to get a new install going. I don't know what I am doing wrong, and have done installs of BWP before with minimal problems.

BiG-world-fixpack-master.zip ? Because that's what BWS downloaded for me this morning/last night.

I managed to install Tactics with BWS and after hours into the game I thought it was bug free until I came across web entangle that was cast by a wraith spider in a cave east of Beregost Temple. The spell persists until the end of time, slows down the frame-rate to a crawl, and if any of your characters are caught in it, the graphic stays on you forever, not allowing you to save or rest - EVER AGAIN! It's pretty much game-breaking and at this point so is the tactics install.

Um... I've just ran into this too.

Is it possible to fix this somehow without re-installing? I'm many hours into the game already. Maybe, I don't know... edit all the web abilities so they do nothing, as a temp solution?

Don't use Spellpack Web. Somebody should pin this sentence, or simply remove the spell from BWS.

It should be "burnable" so you might want to cast Fireballs at it.

Fireballs sort of work on the main big pile of web, but the web effects on characters persist indefinitely. And if a webbed character is hit by a fireball, well, they DIE.

So, can I disable the web effects on this installation? Maybe with a tool, like NearInfinity?

Yes, it's doable; even Shadowkeeper should work.

I'm not sure... I've checked all the spiders with Shadowkeeper, they've got empty magic tables.

Could you tell me what to do with NearInfinity? I'm afraid to break something with it.

Spiders do not use their spell casting table, because they use their own script to launch their web. Just like beholders.

But that's not the point, you can use the Shadowkeeper to remove spell effects from characters. The thing is, you have to remove the correct one, because the wrong one if removed, removes kit abilities and other permanent things.
