Hi, first things first: Thanks for this great program! Makes a Big World Install much easier.

 

I just finished my BGT install with classic BG. Just some things I've noticed:

 

If you start BWS a second time, it starts at the screen where you choose your install folders. But it changed the "installation methode" from "Baldur's Gate Trilogy (BWP)" to " BiG World Install.bat". So you have to ge back one screen and change it back.

 

In "maximized Pre-selection" EET Tweaks: Disable XP Cap is used. Some .2DA files end at level 40 (XPLevel.2DA) some go up to level 50 (HPWAR.2DA). I don't know, if that causes problems later on, but in my second install I chose to use the "Tweaks Anthology" remove XP Cap instead and now everything looks like level 50 rules. Or is there a reason why EET Tweaks is used?

 
I also had 2 warnings from the BiG World Fixpack:
One for "Secret of Bone Hill" and an identical one for "Region of Terror". I installed anyway hoping everything would be fine...

Do you want to try to apply other patches for this mod anyway?  If a target file is different from the original file that was used to create a patch, the patch might fail completely (making no changes) or it might fail partially (making some changes) or it might succeed with "fuzz" (if all of the lines to change are still in the file, but some other lines were added in between).  If partial patching occurs, the mod might fail to install or manifest other problems later.  If in doubt, please visit one of the modding forums and ask for help.

Hi again, I just wonder about the darkest day mod in mine EET installation. Where I am supposed to find Adario Kalvaras assassin? Isnt he supposed to be in copper coronet? If yes, then hes missing. Attached BG2EE weidu log.

You can try C:CreateCreature("adario12") but you will get *file not found* or similar.

The additional NPCs from old TDD are not part of TDDz anymore (not EET compatible) as far as I know - except for Robilard:who has a dedicated install option.

Also is it possible for mod  Portraits Portraits Everywhere to not auto download every time? I know BWS is set for github master's to download every time at the moment but this mod (which doesn't use releases unfortunately - have asked) is quite large (325 MB) and isn't updated often. Sometimes BWS chokes on downloading it.

Thanks zonx - fixed eetact2 patch, hid MSFM component 11 for BG2EE installs without EET, and changed PPE download link.  File size is correct; name is correct.  If it still re-downloads, please attach your Big World Downloads log file so I can see why it's failing to verify the existing copy.  BWS isn't supposed to re-download GitHub masters every time; only if it is unable to verify that the file size and file name hasn't changed on the server.  I guess I could also add a user prompt before BWS decides to wipe out the existing copy in that case...

Okay, having two more issues with my EET via BWS install (hopefully actual bugs this time lol).

 

1: The "NPCs go to inns" component of SCS was selected and installed successfully, but it doesn't seem to be functioning in-game (tried with both Kivan and Imoen).

 

2: Upon meeting Viconia (in BGEE) the Flaming Fist officer pursuing her never spawns. She just says "Thank you for helping" and then nothing happens. EDIT: the "Move NPCs to more convenient locations" component of SCS was also installed, if it makes any difference.

I'm not sure if that SCS component is EET compatible.  Perhaps use BG1NPC component 16 instead?

 

Where did you encounter Viconia?

Check what C:GetGlobal("BetrayedValygar","GLOBAL") gives you.

 

You can also check Baldur.gam from a current save (e.g. using NI) and see what his current area is (normally Ar1101 = his cabin)

AR1100 is the Umar Hills outside of the cabin, NI will also tell you the co-ordinates. My only explanation is that you entered the cabin, V was walking to you to initiate talk but you went outside again and he followed you...

 

The global being not existing is good - means that you did not deceive him somehow.

Hi,

 

I have installed BGT using GoG BG1&2, using BWS, and encountered some problems. First, there was an error when the installer got to "The BG1 NPC Project: Add Non-Joinable NPC portraits to quests and dialogues: v22.5". The error was:

 

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [entar.cre] not found in KEY file:
[./chitin.key]
Stopping installation because of error.
 
I had to skip this component, and I installed it manually at the end, with success.
 
Then some of the components do not seem to behave normally. For example, Summon Monster 1 spell from Spell Revisions does not work at all, or the component "send NPCs to an inn" from SCS does not seem to work either. However, these are only minor nuisances so far. I have attached the log files, so can you please tell me if there is something wrong with the installation?

hi guys, anyone else have steam versions of EET? I got crash like every hour, which is "random occured", in random sequence, fight, dialog, travel, map opening, etc... I cant predict or "retry" the conditions for crash

  • travel + map opening >>> can happen with large worldmap installed depending on you graphic card hardware . can be avoided by entering a small indoor area, opening the worldmap once and then continue your game. When the map once loaded, you normally have no further problems (of course you need to repeat this when you exit the game and re-start it but it works in a current session). This is a known issue already reported to the bean dogs.
  • dialogues >>> you play a non-english version and maybe have a mod that does not support some specific symbols. Google for Unicode or utf-8 in any BG forum for support.
  • fights >>> can be anything (weapon animations, spells...) further information required

This crashes with beamdog error message occurly randomly. When I start again the game and initiate dialogue, it works. With that dialogue it happens only once. With map it happens only sometimes. I dont remember if there is anything specific occuring more often than other reasons.
