I've been having similar "1-byte read" errors with that component... there's something wrong with the REMOVE_LINES function. Which is weird because I've never had a problem with that function before, and I believe it was written by Camdawg, and his stuff is usually sterling.

The "no effects altered" thing is harmless, just Weidu being a bit too alarmist.

The "no effects altered" still causes the component to be INSTALLED WITH WARNINGS, which usually means that BWS will stop and prompt for user instruction. You could wrap that code in an ACTION_TRY to catch "no effects altered" so it doesn't raise an alarm.

Well that's annoying. There's lots of reasons to use CLONE_EFFECT/ALTER_EFFECT that way - "I don't know what kind of mods the player has already installed, so just comb through all spells looking for opcode 206 effects that protect from Magic Missile, and whenever you find it, clone it to protect from this new spell also."

That will produce warnings, but it's working exactly as intended, and is a very elegant way to achieve the desired outcome.

Of course there's no reason it SHOULD produce such warnings, but as I said, that's how Weidu works.

Just updated MnG to v3.2.1, this issue should be solved now.

Got some new bugs in the past two weeks or so on both of my BWS installs, which are on different PCs:

 

Tome and Blood - spell tweaks.  Haven't had a problem with T&B for a long time so this surprised me.
Golem Construction - says I don't have the main component or BG2EE installed.  I have the GoG versions of both games installed on the same partition.  I always clear up any conflicts and missing dependencies before saving my list and running BWS.

And the old classics that have been present forever:

 

Item Randomizer: won't install "chance of NOT being random";

BillyYank's potrait picker: Missing PC pictures when I use this UI mod.  I think there's a pattern to it.  At a random point in the middle of the 3rd party male portraits, two out of three pages will have empty frames.  It adds up to about half of the male portraits (and sometimes a few of the female ones) not being visible, although if you select a blank frame the picture will show up in-game.

Bizarre scrambled graphics in place of menu text - its NOT a foreign font, more like what you'd see when a Nintendo cartridge has a poor connection (some of you surely know what I mean).

 

Things that were NOT working but now seem to be on one of my BWS installs:

 

EET Tweaks - adjust total XP Cap (custom): I have tried every mod that does this for BGEE and all of them have failed...until now.  No idea what changed but I'm glad I can go to level 15 or so.  I'm hoping that whatever change or update caused this on one PC takes hold on the other as well.

Also, since main topic with sandrah is closed.. I dunno where to ask..  how do I get to waterdeep? I got map and mine chars are just blindly patrol between some points in FAI...

Maybe something is in the path they should follow. Just try again from the last autosave (probably when leaving FAI).

 

If still stuck - tell Sandrah to wait until later, then move your party to the main entry of FAI compound, ask her again (PID) to show the way with her map.

Move to the western part of the outside area of FAI around co-ordinates 280.1206 (where you met the duergar earlier). Once there SetGlobal("RoadFound","GLOBAL",4).

 

After the first visit, the new area will be added to your worldmap and you can revisit it any time you want.

There's problem with downloading polish translation mod for BG2. I always get this message:

"The following mod(s) could not be downloaded:

 
   Polska lokalizacja BG2:EE: The Mod itself (BG2EE_PL.7z)

There's problem with downloading polish translation mod for BG2. I always get this message:

"The following mod(s) could not be downloaded:

 
   Polska lokalizacja BG2:EE: The Mod itself (BG2EE_PL.7z)

Yeah, the problem with that is, try as you might go into the download directory, I at least get a Error 400 -note by trying. Meaning that the directory that that it's at, is hidden, meaning that the file size nor the media content can't be verified by simple aplications like the BWS. The BWS will try ALWAYS to do that*, in this case it can't, so it can't check the authenticity of the file. Getting the mod uploaded to a site that allows(like the SHS's official download manager, sites like bitbucket etc) that should be the priority for this to work.

*There's an option when you launch the BWS, that allows you to NOT check the files and to use the ones you provide to it as such, that allows you to also use this file, but then you might be using outdated mod files, that could give more incompatibility problems.

I can enter Larswood normally without problem, but there is supposed to be a tower from DSoSC or NToSC mod with mage who sells some stuff and is part of some quests.

Larswood in EET is BG2900 (use ctrl+x to check that in game) and the Mage Tower is ar9001 - thus my references.

One doesn't need the Ctrl key... the X key will print out the current mouse pointers location, including the maps name. The Ctrl + X will give additional info, but then one needs to enable the cheat keys for that... and that's too bothersome usually, as said, the x is all that's needed.
