I'm trying to install the Sandrah and Tower of Deception mods via BWS but when I run the "Test present mods" check it turns out that the size of these is inadequate. I downloaded the latest versions.

What should I do in such a situation?

Samriel: BWS' existence check is based on archive file name and size. The Size= line in the BWS/Config/Global/modname.ini should match the top size number (in bytes) shown when you view the archive file's properties (right click the file, choose show properties...).

When you start an install, BWS checks the download link by attempting to retrieve the actual size and name of the online file ... If that is different from what is in the modname.ini, BWS will assume the ini file is outdated and will try to download the file again.

It sounds like you are manually downloading the latest versions? If so, you can manually update the ini file to match. But that (downloading the mods yourself) is not the intended use of BWS: it is easier to just let it download the latest versions for you. The pre-install "check for existing mods" button is somewhat inconsistent with how BWS works these days, when it comes to mods that have updated but for which we haven't updated BWS' ini files yet.

If for some reason, during the actual install, at the end of the download phase, BWS says it couldn't find a mod, you can 'p'rovide it (when prompted) and if necessary 'f'orce it to accept a different file size/name than what is in the ini file.

Note that every time you start BWS using the "with updates" script, it will reset all modname.ini files to the last public BWS update, which will revert any manual or local updates you've made.

When trying to install Sandrah with BWS I run into this:

The following mods cannot be installed because of missing dependence:

Sandrah Saga - Times of Trouble Revisited

The Installation should be able to run properly.
Missing mods, which were needed, can ruin the installation.
Check if you need the mods that were not extracted.
Do you want to remove the listed mods from the installation-list for safety
reasons?
(Note: If you were able to extract the listed mods manually then choose "N" to
keep them in the installation-list.)
Enter [y]es, [n]o or [c]ancel.

Should I unpack the mod into the BGEE2 folder myself then? Though I noted that there is a folder created there already with content seemingly unpacked already. What can I do?

Sandrah Saga - Times of Trouble Revisited

?

The mod is Sandrah Saga - Time of Troubles Revisited NOT Time(s) of Troubles

>>> it requires full installation of the two previous parts of Sandrah (NPC + RtF)

The Sandrah Saga

another piece of *buggy, cheesy, unbalanced junk*

The incorrect name aside, it seems the download or extraction of Sandrah-ToT failed. Samriel, did you get an earlier prompt (after the downloads) about that mod?

At current prompt, you could manually extract Sandrah-ToT into the game folder and choose "N"o to keep the mod selected... But it would be better to restart from the beginning and "p"rovide the mod package at the earlier prompt...

Which is particularly weird since I outright copied the text from BWS when I got said message.

And got the "Sandrah Times of Trouble Revisited".

Was the title input incorrectly by BWS developer and now it doesn't recognize stuff?

I did input the p(rovide) command but nothing happened.

Should then open some kind of window which allows to choose the mod in question by checking through my PC content?

After choosing "p"rovide it should prompt you AGAIN to specify the method - "d"ownload (will open browser window) or "s"elect (will open file select window - assumes you already downloaded the mod and put the archive in the BWS download folder).

I've ran BWS twice and restored my backup each time.  I keep getting an odd error very early in the the install which requires me to kill the installer task..there's no exit option when it occurs.

Also, the Fixpack/trimpacck re-downloads every single time I run BWS, even when its not updated.

BG1NPC has got it's long awaited update. Since they don't use versionless filename, I suppose BWS should be updated manually. Here's the direct link to the latest version.

Just the BG1NPC update. I'm running a test install now to see if I get the same SCS error.

this is standard issue you would get on EE patch 2.x games when installing SCS. Big World Fixpack fixes it so from this I assume for some reason your SCS hasn't been patched with BWF.

Just a report from an ambitious tactical preset EET install (commit a90ff3a). Did still hit out of memory during SCS install but amazing progress is been made. Not something I'd play anyway, just seeing how it went.

Spoiler
