Ok I tried out my Tactical install in-game that I did yesterday (as detailed in previous post) and went to turn on the SCS Ease of Use AI Script and found this:

Any ideas folks?

Appreciate all of the reports.  I don't have much time for troubleshooting this week, but I will work through these reports in the coming days.

BiG World Fixpack (community collection of mod fixes and compatibility patches, with user-friendly cross-platform script)

BiG World Setup (tool to automate best-practice installation of Infinity Engine mods on Windows, with conflict analysis)

Thanks for the reply :).  I just tried a Maximised installation and recieved all the same error reports except for the two from Sword Coast Strategems, which did not appear.  Also checking in-game there were no issues with the SCS Ease of Use AI Script, so whatever caused that is amongst the Tactical series of mods.

Faenor, did you click the "choose mods and components" button after picking the tactical or maximized pre-selection, or did you just move directly to the install phase without entering the component selection view first? It looks like some of the BWS conflict resolution logic was skipped prior to starting the installation.

I just moved straight on to installation after selecting Tactical/Maximized, was that wrong of me to do so?

I just realized I never skip the component view that so haven't tested that way for a long time. Bet that is a contributing factor for some but it wouldn't explain all of the issues you saw.

Yeah, and ONLY install the mods you want !

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

What Imp said. To elaborate: Best practice for an install you actually intend to play (as opposed to a test install) is to start from the Minimal or the Recommended pre-selection and then manually add other specific mods/components you want.

Be particularly discriminating in the AI and the Rules/Tweaks categories (right-click the mods and choose "go to website" to consult the ReadMes if unsure of the effects).

The Maximized and Tactical pre-selections have no quality control - they both cram as many mods (including tweaks) together as possible, throwing balance out the window. Tactical just adds a bias towards "even more difficult" install options (those marked orange/yellow in the selection view).

Ok thanks for the info :), I think I will try a Recommended plus the quest mods setup for when I actually play, I'm relatively new to Baldur's Gate modding but not modding in general.

Erhm... wasn't it not -Take Tactics and then remove everything that even sounds like it would be un-fun for you, or that you won't need... like every kit except the ones your characters will use, every guest mod you are unsure off*... Yeah, then again that's quite list to cram and remove mods from, but it will eventually be worth it.
*Or you know you won't like.

Well I've decided on Recommended plus all the Big Quest mods (Drizzt Saga, The Darkest Day, Sandra etc) and the smaller quest mods, as well as Spell Revisions and Item Revisions and few other smaller mods like Pack Mule, that seems like more than enough content for me given that I've never even played Seige of Dragonspear or the EE extra characters.

Hi guys, I started EET with BWS with this selection in list txt file. But almost at the beginning of installation it stops working.

 Below you find the image:

https://s30.postimg..../BWS_freeze.png

its the part, where the

D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition>IF NOT EXIST BWP_Fixpack.installed Call "_ApplyPatches.bat"

"_ApplyPatches.bat is not a name of inner or outer command, runable program, or batch file.

and it does nothing now. How could I fix that please? :)

It occasionly gave me this error when I tried to install, but on the next attempt in ran through the whole process without any problems. So it seems to be a sporadic issue.

Hello.  Hopefully im posting this in the right place.  I have run bws successfully and the game is running really nicely.  Only thing is, and i have searched and read up on this a bit, is that i want to change the resolution. I saw in another post on this the subject (http://www.shsforums...s-installation/) a sugestion of uninstalling the widescreen mod, by uninstalling the mods after it in order, then reinstalling them, having changed the resolution or missing the widescreen mod.

Will this work? Or should i start again?

Also, and I might be missing something here, but how would i go about uninstalling things? I cant see any uninstall options or .exes or anything.

I checked the Big World Install Debug file to see what was installed after the widescreen mod, looks like it was the last thing, happening after generalised biffing, but Level 1 NPCs needed configuring before everything finished.

Hopefully this rambling mess of a post will make some sort of sense to someone.

Thanks in advance for any help

1) To uninstall any mod, you start the Modxxxxx-setup.exe in your game directory and a CMD window will pop up with the uninstall option.

2) Open the file Weidu.log (also in your game directory) with any text editor. You will have a list of all mods (and subcomponents) in the order of install - so just go to the end and work backwards from there.

The Sandrah Saga

another piece of *buggy, cheesy, unbalanced junk*

My only answer to it is to keep trying, try to reboot your computer and then rerun Big World Setup.
