Getting ready to run BWS again and just poking around, couple of things I would like to understand better.  #1, if I "save selection" is it like saving the list of MODs I'm currently working through, with the ability to go back and "reload" later (which of course is another option listed)....and whats the difference if I saved it versus saving it to a "file".  I know the answer is simple, I'm just trying to make sure I have a better understanding of it before I just dump the two hours of MOD selection I go thru right now, thanks.

It's the same, exept you can choose filename. Be aware that such exported list is very prone to modders changing their DESIGNATED number for components/mods.

Thanks.  So does it mean it saves my place from anywhere within the program?  Like if I have gone half way thru the Orange/Red/White conflict screens is it saving up to that point?  Sorry to sound like an idiot, I'm just trying to make sure I don't close the program and have to redo all the research.  Thanks

My understanding is that we maintain the more stable github link for BWS?
Yes, that was my intention. Thanks!

Jatsey,

Can you send me a link to the Ajantis Portrait Pack please?  I have a multi hour install on BWS that is hung up on the end because it can't locate the Ajantis Portrait Pack.  I have tried multiple feeds and they all lead back to the kurzenburg site, which is no good since I can't read German, and the web site doesn't help out.  I'm trying to down load it manually and put it in myself, as I try to have BWS continue through it, but it only gives me the option of getting the mod file where it can be seen by the machine.  I'm right at the end of this thing, and it's been a really long install, which is fine but I don't want to hang up and loose another day because it can't find portraits, that's crazy.  Thanks.

Maybe this one works https://www.baldurs-...load&version=11

Otherwise you can skip it in BWS. Once you get the link you can install it manually later - this should not be a problem with a portraits mod.

I thought the same thing but it only gives me ® retry © continue and (e) exit.  I retry and it sits and spins.  I continue and nothing happens.  Where would I give it the command to skip the Mod? and what command would I use?  I'm not gonna dump a 10 hour install over some pictures, I will know better next time, but I don't know how to get around it, especially when I know I can do it later.

This is wild guess, but do you have at least 15 strength and 17 intelligence? Maybe you chosen one of those specialized  fighter kits which don't allow dual-classing? Is it your fighter human in the first place? Did you reach at least 2nd level?

no my fighter only have 15 in Int,  and he is ready to level 3.  and a human kensai fighter

It was his low Int  that turn off dual class.

Thanks for the help

Well, there you have it, one of the rules of dual-classing: your character must have at least 15 score in prime attribute of your current class ( this is strength for fighters ) and 17 for the class you want to dual class into ( 17 intelligence for the mages ). It is all elaborated in the dual class screen...

This is "a made-up law", it's actually all controlled by the ABDCSCRQ.2DA and ABDCDSRQ.2DA files in the game. As you can also see, some of those(ranger) has multiple requirements to dual from and to.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Ah, yes, rangers need high strength, constitution and wisdom if I'm not mistaken? Funny thing is that my last BWS even allowed dual classing from fighter to ranger. Which resulted in the nice CTD...  :P

Well, that's cause the game doesn't have a Ranger/Fighter class... just like there is no other such ... say Paladin/Druid... try to make a Paladin to a Druid, and it will always lead to a CTD.

Yes I know, dual classing possibilities  must be valid multi class options... I was just lazy to find out which mod allowed such blasphemy.  Not Tobex though, I didn't allow that options...

If you still want to choose some portraits for your companions then you can do it manually and drop it in the override folder from your main game folder. I am currently running the newest Ajantis BG2 beta mod (v15) and created my own portrait set for him. Tho, I am unsure if the v14 is using the same portrait labels as the 15v version.

v15+ portrait labels for Ajantis:

AJANTISL.bmp

AJANTISM.bmp

AJANTISS.bmp

If you use the v14 of the Ajantis BG2 mod and the portraits labels above don't work (meaning your portrait of choice won't show up ingame) then use these labels:

c#ajanl.bmp

c#ajanm.bmp

c#ajans.bmp

More information about portraits can be found here.

The link to Alora NPC might need some redirection. If anyone could send me a copy of this mod before it's back hosted somewhere I'd appreciate it a lot. currently it's going to here: http://www.baldursga...a=view;down=195

would you kindly add this mod: http://gibberlings3....ic=28894&page=1

for bg vanilla version\baldur's gate trilogy

as an alternative to Item revision currently inside BWS?
