it would be a good idea to drop Stratagems v24 beta support for now because of the random crashing it seems to cause. Also, DavidW mentioned it is a beta and SCS (and SCSII) is stable at v21 :cheers:

Is it possible for me to just download v21 and delete my old v24 file and have BWS work fine?

I'll try.

No, BWS would not find it.

After my BWS install I now get some errors in to ToBEx console when launching BGMain.exe:

CRuleTablesEx::Init(): CLSSPLAB.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): CLSRCREQ.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): MGSRCREQ.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): ANIWKSND.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): ANITNSND.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): ITEM_USE.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): ENCUMBER.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): HPCLASS.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): HPBARB.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): SLTSTEAL.2DA not found
CRuleTablesEx::Init(): DIFFMOD.2DA not found

Never seen this before or seen it mentioned anywhere. Are they important?

I also get these two installation failures mentioned above:

Ding0's Tweak Pack components Summonning Cap Removal & Quest XP Reduction

Lolfixer component MAJESTIC Spell Fixer

Hi Guys, sorry,

I don't wanna grind anyones gears, but my BWS still can't extract and install the difficulty and tweak mod, although it gets extracted and is available in my SoA Directory.

I tried changing the Directory Name from difftweaks to diff_tweaks, or even difftweak, nothing worked.

I'm also getting the two errors Sammo mentioned (Ding0's Tweak Pack and Lolfixer)

What is this mod? It's not in the mod-list of BWS.

Which version of BWS you use? Did you try to retry the installation of these components?

My guess is that it's the Difficulty mod, it was formally names as the mixmod.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Is this it? Okay, I'll see what I can do. But maybe I will not add it to the mod-list of BWS while Leonardo did not officially include it in the BWP.

BWS is updated.

Added:
  • Difficulty and Tweak mod, SCS, SCSII and connections with them
 Removed:
  • Mix Mod
Updated:
  • Petsy Chattertone, TeamBG Weapon Pack
  • Adjusted some dependencies

Although that I've added SCS v21 and SCSII v21, the new one I did not remove. In all variants of the installation will be used older versions by default. You can try to install a Stratagems v24, but for this all of the components that you need, you have to choose manually.

Quiet, is there any chance I could talk you out of including mods that aren't in BWP into BWS?

See, we have BWP as an ultimate authority on the matter of what is compatible with what, and in which order. And we have BWS as an ultimate in an easy and neat way of picking components while staying within BWP guidelines and conforming to these. So far, when users were picking any option present in BWS, they were sure that it's pre-approved by "BWP research team". Should there be any mods that weren't in BWP added, this will significantly ruin BWS' credibility as it's users won't be able to pick mods with confidenсe anymore.

Erhm, you do know that the two said mods are actually the very same mod, the internal name of the mod was changed and so the change from v5 to v6 needs the change of the mod. So to answer the question:

NO!

Difficulty and Tweak mod = Mixmod

I also don't think adding other mods is bad.
Done that before and I guess if some experienced modder comes up with another NPC, it won't hurt. I put Lavas mods in and there was no issue. I must admit that the reputation made me do it without much hesitation. You could also just to put it in and make the mod completely optional (not even included in expert). It's done to include some picture mods for example.

Oh, and if guys (don't) want to have something done like others, Alien said that you could just "fork your own branch" here. So if you (pl) disagree, brew/cook/boil your own soup.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

So, my Big World Setup (standard install) just finished with only one error and one missing mod (anishai, but I think its broken anyways), fantastic work, can't thank you enough.

The error was in the Mur'Neth NPC installation, perhaps you can tell me what went wrong

packing the extract from my Big World Install Debug.txt into the spoiler, if you need any further logs pls tell me

Not BWS' fault :)

Should be fixed if either Mur'Neth or the BWPFixpack gets an update.

Just installed last version of BWS. I've removed all those NPCs with weird letters in pathnames, and apart from (expected) Mur'Neth there was not a single error during the whole process. Looks like BWS became playable back again, thanks for all the efforts! :)

Actually, I've noticed bunch of "process can't get access to the file" messages in flashing black boxes during "silent NSIS" thingy, but since Big World starts and runs fine, I just hope it wasn't anything important :)

Mmh, I took the 20131017 version from the link in OP and attempted a tactical ("Taktik" BWP Version) GE installation, but there are several problems unmentioned:

  • The program does not recognise Grimuars-v4.1 during extraction nor installation (states that extraction failed - while it did not; states that installation file is absent - while it is not; obviously checks for a false file name).
  • SCS2 is not found during installation, although it did not produce an error during the download or extraction phase. Checking the download folder manually yields no sign of it - there is a "scs-v21.exe" and a "stratagems-v24.exe", the latter of which also produces an extraction error which is resolved by manually starting it.
  • Several modules have translation errors (missing '~' in gavin-v8, missing files in others, ghost strings in some: translation not found error for a line which does not exist in any file), which cannot be confirmed by online search and therefore probably should not exist.

This is enough for me to doubt the integrity of its work too much to continue. - However, apparently no one else has these problems, so mayhap I simply picked the wrong version? Mayhap the tacticial setting is not supported in this one? Mayhap I should try the EN localisation?

Eh, sorry about the format - I had used an enumeration in the editor, but apparently it did not reach the entered post.

Yes, checked and confirmed: The enumeration function of this editor is broken.

Ugh, and apprently the preview function actually changes the entered text. All too fancy.
