I'm surprised I missed that thread - guess I wasn't specific enough in my search

 

This oughta get fixed in the download of the Item Revision mod - unless I happen to have an outdated version?

It was actually fixed back in 2009, but last month, the fix was accidentally removed from the hotfixes when the wrong file was uploaded.

Also, I am wondering if anyone would mind clarifying something for me?

Do the mods version numbers in the BWP have to be exact? Meaning if a mod has been updated since Aug 23 can we use that updated version, or does it have to follow the PDF mod version numbers exactly? Thanks for any advice.

The error with the group of mages at Candlekeep is probably Tethtoril being assigned as a monk animation but carrying non-monk equipment - as I mentioned in my previous post.

Ok so if we have a reproducible crash on our hands then may I request you to upload the crashing CRE file (before any edits that fixed the crash) and all of its equipped items' ITM files please? :P (you seem to know your way around nearinfinity. WeiDU.log would be nice as well ^_^)

Nice! The shield fix works for me as well. I were facing literally the same problems:

 

  • - CtD meeting TETHTO.CRE which could only be avoided by changing his SHLD04.ITM animation  from "c0" to e.g. "D2 - Small Shield"
  • - CtD near spawn points of RDBG121.CRE, ...21A.CRE, ...24.CRE (skeletons) in AR7100.ARE (High Hedge)

 

With that fix installed the skeletons now spawn and attack (and fall) as they should. Thanks!

Gave TETHTO.CRE's SHLD04.ITM a C0 animation in my install (was C1) and it didn't crash.

 

Note that my install has only 1PPv4 and no IR so maybe that's a cause :unsure:

Would also like to report crashing at Tethtoril in Candlekeep using the recommended install (also some more mods though..) from the new version of Big World Setup that is currently active
Editing out his shield using NearInfinity fixed that crash (Assertion crash...)

Will try to add the shield fixed mentioned here previously when my game crashes the next time.

I've got a Big World Project install that also crashes as soon as Tethtoril appears, and can confirm that this is fixed by editing the shield he is carrying.

 

Here are his related CRE and ITM files for you to take a look at.

All I did was change the shield's "Equipped Appearance" attribute to "D3 - Medium Shield" and now the game works fine, even though Tethtoril himself looks a little odd, running around with a shield!

 

I've attached my WeiDU.log and a change-log file that I created on the SHLD04.ITM as well, and it does look to me like it's Item Revisions that is somehow causing this problem.

To everyone experiencing this sort of crash: before reporting, try using this fix to add the missing animations.  Extract it into your BG directory and run setup-shield_fix.exe.
