If you have a working installation, you don't need to upgrade :)

Also, an incremental isn't possible in the BWP because they're tools and the mods themselves haven't changed. It's kinda like saying you want a new newspaper because the paperboy changed :lol:

The easiest way to move to a new BWP version is a full wipe and start from scratch unfortunately :(

Also, I don't think minor version (13.0.4 -> 13.0.5) increments have changelogs in the BWP. Major increments (12.0.6 -> 13) have a changelog at the end of the BWP PDF :)

But because I'm awesome, v13.0.5 only makes the BWP installation process use WeiDU 23201 (beta) instead of 23200 (which causes PARSE ERRORs in installs with lots of NPC mods) :cheers:

@Leonardo:

The Installpack still uses the '_Lolfixer_2762376' folder :unsure: People using the v13.0.4 and above BWP Fixpacks won't be able to install the lolfixer now :P

I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a read me for the big world set up ? Something that explains the options ...like the difference between the " fixed and well tried" and customized option and what the check mark and minus mean ?. I swear I ran into something close to that -once- when I was first directed here and cant for the life of me remember where it is. I looked in my bwp folders and bg2 folders for something and nothing is there. I think it would help keep me from pestering people here.

Hey folks, anybody knows what mods are responsible for:
- store GUI change: icons for rest, shop, temple and thieving became really tiny and are moved to lower right corner of store menu;
- multitude of identical non magical shields in the stores (at least, in Winthorp's store) that only differs with colouring scheme;
- most horrible: removal of UAI from thief HLAs?

upd: just one left to pinpoint.

Are you playing multiplayer?

Don't know. Probably a few mods.
- most horrible: removal of UAI from thief HLAs?
Refinements.

Erhm, the kreso's answer is what I suspect also, it's not a single mod, but the multitude of them... Item Revision, 1PP, unrepresented items and other mods that add stuff to the merchants are likely to cause this, as there's no single one to point out... but does it really even matter as you have multiple options now to choose. Just like they give multiple cover options for your cellphone...

As it turned out, there was no increase in number of shields comparing to vanilla BG1. Got to learn my game better, sorry for the fuzz :(

Hi guys!

I got some problems installing the Big World Project with BWS. I tried several times now and could not get the "Recommended" version to function.

What´s the point in bundling some mods and call it "Recommended" installation if it is not working?

Ingame i get some strange bugs:

NPC names are not names, it´s some dialogue lines

The world map traveling points have some strange dialogue lines too written as a description or name for the place (for example: the woods near peldvale which have no special names are now titled with some dialogue line bullshit

I get installation errors for the recommended installation set both in the BWS mode and in the BAT mode, some mods are not compatible

I get installation error for the Widescreen Mod, some resources are not found

Is there really a BigWorld Setup that functions properly and without any errors?

Hey, I also thought that the mods with the Recommended/Standard tags were to be all installed  :lol2:

The truth is, it won't work if you install all of them. Here is what I currently use, that I have tested just yesterday:

To this list I think you can also add SCS(v24). I have already installed it, but with a smaller mod selection while trying to add item_rev and spell_rev. Unfortunately those didn't work. You can also (probably) add most of the NPC mods if you wish. It's not a 100% thing though. I have installed BWP more than 30 times while trying to see what works and doesn't so I hope this will help someone  :new_thumbs:

I recommend using the BAT file installation.

Check the attached file for more details, some dir names are a little obscure.

Also please note that I haven't played a lot of the game using these settings, so I can't guarantee that it's 100% bug-free, installing it is a quest itself  :shifty:

NPC names are not names, it´s some dialogue lines

That's due to a switch in the dialog.tlk file during your installation, or the mods install didn't edit the character's name when it's installed... same goes on the all other text that's not correctly associated. The usual first guestion is, did you actually start a new game, as loading an old save will cause a lot of this, as there's only a few others that do so.

Is there really a BigWorld Setup that functions properly and without any errors?

Are you using the latest one ? PS, the previous do not autoupdate...

In fact i don´t even know how to install these mods without the BWS installer program.

Does it work if i take those mods from your list an put them into the BWS download folder and then override all of those "missing mod download" and "missing mod installation" warnings?

Installing those by hand  :crazy:  .....hmm ... no! I don´t do that.... xD

Well, you don't actually install them "by hand", you put them in bg2's directory and run a .bat file from an admin windows command prompt. It's pretty simple tbh.

You need to do a little extra work for Infinity Animations(from that list at least) meaning that you need to copy some files in IA's dir, but that's pretty much it.

I have followed this guide, very handy: http://www.shsforums...newbies-and-up/ it's all explained there.

Can't tell you about BWS. I tried installing with it and managed to bork up the installation  :lol2:

There an notification that the BWS found there only supports BWP version 11.4. And you can see the date. So it's not the providers fault if you don't understand what's written there. ;)
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Ok i try again now that i have Read those How-to in the Forums.

Got a question though: how can i determine what version of Baldurs Gate i have. There are patches for the ENGLISCH and for the US versions and i don´t know which one i have. Maybe that is why i always got those errors.

I used the BWS from The Imp´s link above. This version could update the URLS. While it was doing that it showed a little box where those mods could be selected one by one. Why is there no such thing in the BWS where i can choose the mods which i want to install? All i can choose is those install packages "Recommended" "Standard" and "Expert". And those do not work. :huh:   Or did i miss something?

Erhm the new one has this box:
capturevmp.png
The old one had just a tic box that you tagged and it allowed the next screen to select the mods, the newer goes there instantly when you click the box.

PS, no, you did not read my FAQ, the picture is from there...
