What to do? Go to the game folder, find the file called baldur.ini and open it with Notepad, then search for [Alias] and post that here... or you can post the whole file's content, and you'll get more help after that.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Ok. I will try one, the other or both....might take a while to figure it out, but this is a little easier. I appreciate the time and effort to help. I understand that you want me to post the ini (alias) folder....but if not you mean the WHOLE bg or bg2 folder? Want to make sure so I dont look dumber then I already do =p

OK that was easy and fast. Once somone gives me a little direction I can usually figure some if not most of it out. Here is what the Bg1 and bg2 ini looks like I am just going to cut and paste both. I want to run the bp-bgt or just the bp which ever is more stable with it so I figured who ever might be helping may need to peek and both. I am just going to cut and paste the whole ini with alias and all...not sure what you need. I see the steps for 7 32 bit...I have 7 64 bit.

That sentence has bad thing written all over it, as you need to use the new BWP tools, not the ancient megamod tools which recuire the ancient versions of the mods that mostly are not available anymore.

Use the linked BWS, and it will retreave the mods you wish to install as they are currently available, yes, you need to make the configuration correctly, but you wouldn't be able to install the ancient mods either without a clear setup.

This:

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\
CD1:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD2:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD3:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD4:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD5:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD6:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\

Needs to be:

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\
CD1:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD2:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD3:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD4:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\
CD5:=C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\;C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\CD5\

Then save the file and overwrite the existing one. And yes, you need to copy the "25movies.bif" -file from C:\nerdcorner\Baldur's Gate II\data\ -folder to the C:\nerdcorner\BGII - SoA\CD5\ -folder(and by consequence also make that directory first).

And then you need to make a new .txt file and name it as "BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt". That solves the BG2 problems with the BWS... and then start the BG2 game, create character and exit after the game autosaves, as you have not done so yet.

Thank you very much. I am going to give it a whirl later. I appreciate you baring with me. You're a good man =). I will let you know if it worked. It will probably take some trial and error to get it correct, but hey its a learning period for me.................Does the text file go into the main bg2 file or the ini ?

OH! and I assume when you say " place the 25movies file in the cd 5 folder" and make it first. I assume you mean make a new folder and name it cd 5 ? and drop the 25 movies in ? then do the ini/patch thing ? Trying to save future time and questions.

OK, I got the bloody thing to run! Thank you sooooooooooo much. You have no idea the hell I went through. I started trying to do a manual install of a huge mod list ( NOT a good idea).....I got pointed here from sorcerers place and then I ran into a new reason to bang my head on the keyboard. I can dink around from here and figure it out. I just need that -little- boost. Thanks Imp. You made me one happy girl.

Ah, you are more than welcome. Yes, I realized a while ago that the FAQ needs to be rewritten ... but I have not yet gone through the process, as I lost the password a while, and the email account a long time ago.

Ouh, and yes, I am a devil, so I demand a payment, that is that if you ever run to a person that has similar problems, you need to try o help them, or direct them here to get help... :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil: ... see, the evil plan is already working.

Hello again. I have one quick question. When extracting do I extract EVERYTHING into the BG2 folder or BG1...or both ? I plan to try to run the BP....so I was not sure and it seems to have problems extracting files. I dont see a option to extract into two at the same time. Unless my glasses need to be cleaned and upgraded.

Everything mod related must be extracted into the BG2 folder (I suppose you will play BGT).

Everything mod related must be extracted into the BG2 folder (I suppose you will play BGT).

That's technically incorrect... the BG1 patch and the BG1 Lost files(the English mod for the BG1 from here, used to add stuff to the BGT, it's probably not needed today anymore) are installed to the BG1 game, the rest are extracted to the BG2 but what ever. And the BWS does the mod extraction by itself, so you don't have to touch to any of them unless it gives you the instructions that it needs to... what the BWS might have troubles with is the nsis-files(or something to that effect) which are basically wrongly coded self-extracting.rar files used to crap things while they are run ... that means that those files need to be extracted to a independent folder and then copies/cut to the game folder, as extracting it to the game folder from the archive it self damages it as they try to run the setup-*modname*.exe which leads to bad things.

Does somebody by chance know where I can find this option:

Also as of version 9, you can choose at install time if wizards will restrict themselves to BG spells - no spell sequencers, no Stoneskins, etc - or if they will memorise and use BG2 spells. Particularly if you choose the first of these, I recommend that you install the "Make Protection from Normal Missiles affect magical projectiles" mod in order to make the wizards have a bit more of a fighting chance.

in the BWS section of Sword Coast Stratagems?

Hey all. I seem to be having difficultly trying to get the set up to download, extract and install. I actually tried to just force the install by running the bwp installer....but weirdly after 2 hours of Dling all the mods I choose......they were all gone...which is strange since its a folder I dropped in after aclean patched back up was placed in the old bg 2's place.....anyways I am starting to wonder if DnDMC is even capable of running mods and this. Anyone know anyone who has managed to get this done with DnDMc ? Just so you know. If this is a common error on extraction. It extracts into the c/: main drive not the proper program c/:nerdcorner-baldurs gate 11. Which is odd

PS. Does anyone know what the DnDMc Missing files is for ? Would it help ?

Update: Well I'll be a monkeys auntie. I just changed extraction programs (from winrar-64..to 7zip-64) and that soved my extraction problem.....cant rightly download if its not extracted proper like....I wanted to post this so people who run into a similar issue might find some ease and let the keyboard prints on their forehead heal.

The BWP linklist doesn't link to (or even mention) SCS v21 for some reason :unsure:

Also, it might be a good idea to revert back to SCS/II v21 instead of the Stratagems v24 BETA because of all the crashing it seems to cause (not to mention it's a beta). The install.bat doesn't need to change (because it still supports SCS) but the BWP PDF needs to be reverted in order to not confuse people :P

I managed to get the installer to properly extract and work. So far so good. I am playing bgt and I dont see any obvious bugs -yet-....there where minor problems I wanted to report...in case it helps.........A few links....the undying, ntotsc/dsotsc and items revised where either locked password sites and couldnt download links or if you search by hand they are not found on the sites I looked for. And items revised sends you to a site that gives you a unusable corrupt link. Lastly the patch exe files...every attempt I made in my adventure to megamod it ending up giving me a closed program error. I dont know if they are known issues....or my computer who can be a real princess.....but I thought I would let you folks know who log it and what not.....thanks again IMP I would have never gotten here if it wasnt for you!

I have another question, I have Fade NPC mod installed in a Big World Install. I used Shadowkeeper to changer her into a mage/thief. When I did her necklace became grayed out. Why did that gray out her necklace. "The one she comes with in the MOD" and will changing her class with shadowkeeper mess up her story line.

Also I'm guessing according to the weidu log I posted Generalized Biffing is duplicating Confusion 7th level Priest Spell, is there a work around and or why?

Because it's only usable by Chaotic Neutral Thieves - which the original Fade is :rolleyes: You might wanna change the usability flags of E3AMUL01.ITM while you're playing with Shadowkeeper :P

The item get's grayed out basically because her new class is restricted from using the item, you can edit the item with NearInfinity or DLTCEP to not to be restricted from the new class. And no, the story line won't get messed up, the dialog might refer her to be the old class, but that shouldn't matter.

Ok thanks, I see that 13.04 has been released on big world setup. Is their a easy way to upgrade? (If this has been already answered somewhere, can you point me to it, as I havn't found it.) And I checked the files's readme for a list of updates but I'm not seeing it. Is there a location on the forum for that?

Thank you
