I was thinking the other day. Is there a way to take content from BG:EE and transplant it into the original game? Like the new characters and dungeon. Could this in theory be done?

Hello everyone! In theory, yes. However I would suggest you not pursue this.

Why is this Hypnotoad video so popu... ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.

Why is that?Because it's the IP of a company with a legal department?

Gamebanshee wrote that it's a company with a legal department that didn't pay their royalties to Atari, though. (Anyway, if it's true, I'm glad they didn't, because it means they stalled and all the best modders returned to us. It's been way too quiet).
Anyway, I think it's legal if the user has BGEE installed, and the mod checks for that. I'd just rip off all the content(dialogue, cre, areas - you have to know how to work with Weidu and read file names via Infinity Explorer) and see if it fits into Tutu/BGT. If it doesn't, I'd rewrite the .cre files and the .are file. If it still doesn't, I'd give up the dungeon and just do the NPCs.

Aside from the legal stuff, which i agree shouldn't be present if you own both games, there will be some problem with the new features. Not all of them are ToBEx compatible.

This is a very shortsighted approach, also the basic assumption is false too. The game (that works with Intel chipset) would be out, even BG2EE by now, if Atari doesn't go bankrupt.

Oooh! False? (You're allowed to say that, right? I mean, you didn't sign some evil confidentiality agreement or something?) Do you know the true story behind BG:EE's 'no-new-patch-no-new-game'?

Seriously tho, how would that be different from what BGT/tutu does?

The BGEE engine has significant changes, fixes and improvements. Much of the new content simply wont work in vanilla because of the scripting too. We have new triggers/actions besides the ToBEx stuff. None of the new areas will work in vanilla, they are pvrz and not TIS.
@MrFaust You should send an email to support@beamdog.com explaining your problems. Dee can help you get BGEE working on your PC.

I'm allowed to say anything that i could deduce from non-confidential sources. This one is a no brainer (at least to me).
Atari went bankrupt, can't auction the license but owns it just enough to block further releases.
If my information is false, it's my fault. But i'm pretty sure this is the truth.
