Baldurs Gate: More, Faster, Better
This mod increases movement speed for party members wearing boots. Basic boots can be bought in some stores to outfit party members with.
It also adds:
93 new BG appropriate portraits
98 new soundsets derived from BG1&2, IWD1&2, and PST resources
optional extra:
Plain Girdle and Plain Bracers given a +1 to max health while worn to symbolize their usefulness in
survival situations.
This mod alters all boots except the "Boots of Speed" to increase walking speed. Default movement speed in vanilla BG is 6, and the "Boots of Speed" have a movement speed of 11. This mod has 3 different options to increase player movement speed for all other boots:
option 1.) gives boots movement speed of 7 (barely noticeable difference)
option 2.) gives boots movement speed of 8 (slightly noticeable difference)
option 3.) gives boots movement speed of 9 (BG2 movement speed, I believe)
This mod is fully plug-n-play. No strings were altered. I swapped one style of buckler for the boots, so they could be purchased in stores without needing to alter store files.
The portraits and soundsets are useable in BG2 too.

I would like to thank this author, if he is still around - but also give some advice.
I researched this mod for someone else. I'm playing BG1 classic (with mods) for the first time ever, someone else is and he's complaining about the character speed. So I researched around and linked him to this mod. Fine. I don't want to use this mod as I want to have the "BG1 classic first-time around" vibe, even though I've used a few other mods this one seems a bit too radical for me.
However... the sounds... MY GOD THE SOUNDS!
You wouldn't know about the sound pack (let alone the portraits too) but these should be a seperate mod, or at least heavily referenced. My Paladin now has the austere voice of justice Vhailor, voiced by Keith Davids with reverb.
There are so, so many they should be a separate pack IMHO. Too few know of them. Anyone can make a custom portrait up from the Internet (I have, using a tidy 3D crusader render) but voice packs are quite something else.
Fantastic work, and thank you.

I cannot recommend high enough this little gem of the mod. It's many soundsets are sheer enjoyment for the ears.
