I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but this is the first place I was able to find in order to post a topic.  I am having a problem on Baldur's Gate Tales of the Sword Coast, I have killed the female chieftain, and travelled back to Ulgoth's Beard, when I go into Mendas' house, there are two of him.  I listen to his comments, he turns into a greater werewolf no problem there, but as he turns into a werewolf there is another copy of him in human form, he keeps doing this, until I am dead, is this a bug or is there a way to kill him.  I have cast fireballs, it doesn't work nothing works, this would be the first time I was able to get this far, the first time I went through the werewolf island quest, I wasn't able to advance to the female chieftain running into the catacombs of the wolf it only gave me the option to say I have not killed them all.  I reloaded the game started going through it, was able to complete the quest, but now can't seem to get past Mendas, I am lost, and getting angrier each time I try it. Would someone please help me with this part, a cheat a code, something to get past it, I had read on different forums, and have even tried cntrl y combo, it didn't work.  Please help me

Thanks in advance

Joe

Have you modified the game ? Weidu.log's content please if you have... open the file with Notepad.

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Well by installing any of the games mods to the game folder... but your answer probably removes that cause. Hmm did you patch the game to the v1.3.5512 version ? You can see that version number when you load a save game and then go to the options menu.

You go here, or use the following links I copied, and download the version you need (Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast Patches; (US/Canada - UK - International ), and you run that on your computer, it should detect where the game is installed, but make sure it's the right directory, and then let it do it's job. And when that's done, you need to start from a save that's hopefully still in the island and not back in the Ulgoth's Beard and go back there and do the meeting. This should fix it, but I can't guarantee it as it might take a new game restart. Erhm where did you install the game to ? Hopefully not in the Program Files sub-folders...

The alternative is to get rid of the pesky second character and any extra summons, and to do that you can use the Console and enable the cheatkeys and use the CTRL+Y cheat to destroy the creatures.

I have a save before I get on the boat to go back to ulgoth's beard, would that work.  As long, as I don't have to solve the quest again as this would be the third time I did it.  Thanks for your help, I appreciate it, and will give it a shot, if I have to I will post again.  I assume if I click on your console link, that will allow me to turn on the cntrl-y cheat

Thanks again
