Hi everybody,

At last, after a couple of weeks of work, the bws megamod installation was completed. It was an "arkenor adventure picks", just slightly modified - picked some romance cheats in bg2 tweaks and deselected dingo's experience fixer.

Almost all mods installed correctly. Among the mods that didn't install are tortured souls, sylmar battlefield, aurora... i'll attach my debug file to this post.

Anyway, i finally got to start a new game. Clicked on baldur's gate, single player, new game... and the game crashed to desktop :)

Of course i expected this, nevertheless the disappointment was great.

The game crashed even before character creation. When i tried to load the game i started before the megamod installation - the test one- it crashed immediately after loading.

Any help will be appreciated.

Well, if the game crashed before you install any mods, installing thousand mods won't help...

Now go back and uninstall the game, then remove the game folder and then reinstall the game and it's patch(if you have the 4+1 version), then start the game and find out why it crashed and if you can solve that then you can install the Megamod. This is actually why the FAQ says that you need to have a clear instal.

Now to help you to find out the reason why it crashes you need to give more specific info that that it just crashes...

This is besides the fact that the above file contains only half of the BiG World Fixpacks fixing or the whole of it I have no idea, but the essentially if didn't install any mods, it just fixed the mods so they can be installed in the further running of the .bat file... or so it shows. If you didn't cut it out at the end.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Hi...

just one thing: the game didn't crash before the megamods; i was saying that, after installing the megamod, i tried loading a game that i started before installing the megamod and it crashed. The game was created before installing the megamod, but it was after that it crashed.

about the file i really don't know, i just attached the big world debug.txt file i found in the folder, what file should i upload? Many mods were installed, as i said it was an arkenor picks.

anyway there's not much i can add, it just crashes and no error messages appear.

Edit: i'll attach my weidu.log; seems to me it just shows which mods and components were installed, but i think it's better than nothing.

Thank to anybody who'll helpAttached File  WeiDU.log   68.43K   201 downloads

Well, enable the ToBEx debugging and it will help determine what went wrong, read the mods readme... one thing I saw that might cause a crash is you non-unicode language pack that needs to be set to English(as the cause could be Infinity Animations), yep the pinned FAQ topic has specifics on how to set that.

Yeah, that's cause you need to do that before you run the BWS the final time to install all the mods. As the unpacking of the files archived files is the point where it all actually goes off, if it's not correct.

Edit....

Erhm darn, that was the wrong advice... this is the correct:
For more debugging information:
1. Open TobEx_ini/TobExCore.ini in a simple text editor.
2. Under the [Debug] section, set all values of 0 to 1.

3. Try to reproduce your error in-game. TobEx may sometimes reports some extra information about the error.
4. Report any errors you find on the Spellhold Studios forums. Expect to be asked to attach a .zip of your saved game folder, WeiDU.log, TobEx.log, TobExCore.ini, and TobExTweak.ini.

Well, are you using the Widescreen mod ? No.
Did you try the games own configuration tools resolutions above the 1024x768 ? Probably yes.
The crash happens because of that, you need to use the default screen sizes or the Widescreen mod.

I tried to install widescreen mod, resolution: x=1024, y=600, which is the one i'm currently using on my pc; bgconfig resolution was set to 800x600. Game didn't crash to desktop but screen turned all black. Also i heard no music.

Here i got the tobex.log attached.

Then i tried to set bgconfig to 1024x768 and widescreen mod to 1024x768 as well. Game crashed to desktop. This time i got tobex1.log.

Then i tried to set bgconfig to 1024x768 and widescreen mod to 1024x600. Crashed to desktop.

Edit: the game crashes to desktop even with resolution of 800x600
