At the very beginning of the installation, nothing has happened for over 2 hours now.  (This is actually my 2nd attempt, same result both times: never gets past Step 1.)

The Install window says "Sit back & watch"...etc...

"processing fixes for AzenMod"

The window for TrimPack\util\patch.exe opens & sits there with nothing but a cursor blinking for over 2 hours.  (I'm expecting it to be telling me what it's doing as it's performing the steps, but it says nothing, & it never moves on.)

Problem?

Is it supposed to take this long to patch 1 tp2 file?

Run as admin. Stop anti-something -Software if you did...
THINK! - It's not illegal.

I have.  I stopped User-Account Control, Anti-spyware & Anti-Virus scanning.  Everything I could think of.  The Trimpack\_utils\patch.exe still does nothing.  I have installed to C:\Games\Baldurs Gate BiG World Project.  InstallPack was able to determine what directory it was in, but never had me enter it.  Could it be that Trimpack has not determined the correct path?  (But it's not even trying, just a blank black box with a blinking cursor, no text at all.)

My mistake, my bad.  The User Account Control was not disabled, it fooled me.  I had told it to disable, (& of course I am the Administrator & do everything as the Administrator, & I'm not installing into Program Files, & it's not like I haven't done this before, ) but none-the-less, it had fooled me & not disengaged.  (It took me another 2 hours to figure it out.)

(You can't fight the system.)

I feel like such a tool...

Problem solved!

Thank you, Dabus!

Thank you so much!!!!!

hey guys,

sorry to dig up an old problem but i'm having the same issue with an annoying twist.

when i try to run BiG World Install.bat as administrator the Command Prompt tells me, and i quote "the system cannot find the path specified" and pressing any key closes the window........

help??

i've set everything up with Big World Setup and everything is AOK.. but when the install.bat goes i am taken through the standard options... then it sets off... and opens that other window and just hangs there.

running on windows 8, all patched and up to date.

please help?

cheers,

-J

Where did you install the game to ?

Hopefully to D drive, or at least to C:\Users\<username>\ -sub folder, and not to elsewhere where not even the admin account has access to edit stuff at.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.
